Fishing Gear

Artifact — Equipment MV 3

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, exile the top card of that player's library. If it's a permanent card, you may put it onto the battlefield under your control. If you don't, create a 1/1 blue Fish creature token.

If you put an Aura onto the battlefield this way, you choose what it enchants as it enters the battlefield. This doesn't target any permanent or player, but it must be able to enchant that permanent or player. For example, you could put a green Aura onto the battlefield enchanting a creature with hexproof controlled by an opponent, but not one with protection from green.

You don't have to put the card on the battlefield even if it's a permanent card. You may choose to leave it in exile and create a 1/1 blue Fish token.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Every version of Fishing Gear

1 printing, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly — a printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall genuinely publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Fishing Gear — a name search across every version, for the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
