Homunculus Horde card art

Homunculus Horde

Creature — Homunculus MV 4

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Whenever you draw your second card each turn, create a token that's a copy of this creature.

Rulings

5 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2024-11-08

If Homunculus Horde leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, the token will still enter as a copy of Homunculus Horde, using Homunculus Horde's copiable values from when it was last on the battlefield.

  • 2024-11-08

The token copy will have Homunculus Horde's ability and will be able to create copies of itself.

  • 2024-11-08

In the unusual case where Homunculus Horde becomes a copy of something else while its triggered ability is on the stack but before it resolves, the token will enter as a copy of whatever Homunculus Horde is copying. (Sometimes a horde of homunculi isn't helpful.)

  • 2024-11-08

Homunculus Horde doesn't need to have been under your control when the first card is drawn for its ability to trigger. As long as you control it when you draw your second card in a turn, that ability will trigger.

  • 2024-11-08

The token doesn't copy whether Homunculus Horde is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Every version of Homunculus Horde

5 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly. A printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall publishes none for some of them. Click a card's art to chart that version's price above.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Homunculus Horde. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
