Honored Hierarch card art

Honored Hierarch

Creature — Human Druid MV 1

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Renown 1 (When this creature deals combat damage to a player, if it isn't renowned, put a +1/+1 counter on it and it becomes renowned.)

As long as this creature is renowned, it has vigilance and "T: Add one mana of any color."

Rulings

3 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2015-06-22

If a creature with renown deals combat damage to its controller because that damage was redirected, renown will trigger.

  • 2015-06-22

Renown won’t trigger when a creature deals combat damage to a planeswalker or another creature. It also won’t trigger when a creature deals noncombat damage to a player.

  • 2015-06-22

If a renown ability triggers, but the creature leaves the battlefield before that ability resolves, the creature doesn’t become renowned. Any ability that triggers “whenever a creature becomes renowned” won’t trigger.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

3 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly — a printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall genuinely publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Honored Hierarch — a name search across every version, for the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
