What it does
As Indominus Rex enters, discard any number of creature cards. It enters with a flying counter on it if a card discarded this way has flying. The same is true for first strike, double strike, deathtouch, hexproof, haste, indestructible, lifelink, menace, reach, trample, and vigilance.
When Indominus Rex enters, draw a card for each counter on it.
Rulings
3 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.
- 2023-11-10
If Indominus Rex isn't on the battlefield as its last ability resolves, use the number of counters that were on it when it was last on the battlefield to determine how many cards to draw.
- 2023-11-10
Indominus Rex's first ability will give it only one of each kind of counter, even if you discard more than one creature card with the relevant ability.
- 2023-11-10
If you put counters on Indominus Rex before its last ability resolves, those counters will count.
Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Indominus Rex, Alpha. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.
Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
