What it does
You may cast this spell as though it had flash. If you cast it any time a sorcery couldn't have been cast, the controller of the permanent it becomes sacrifices it at the beginning of the next cleanup step.
Enchant creature
As this Aura enters, choose a color.
Enchanted creature has protection from the chosen color. This effect doesn't remove this Aura.
Rulings
One official ruling, as Wizards published it.
- 2022-12-08
The sacrifice occurs only if you cast it using its own ability. If you cast it using some other effect (for example, if another effect allowed you to cast it as though it had flash), then it won't be sacrificed.
Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

1 printing, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly. A printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Ward of Lights. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.
Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
