What it does
T: Another target creature you control with power 2 or less can't be blocked this turn.
Rulings
2 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.
- 2025-10-02
Once a creature with power 2 or less has been blocked, Deserter's Disciple's ability won't cause it to become unblocked.
- 2025-10-02
If the target creature's power is increased to 3 or greater after Deserter's Disciple's ability is activated but before it resolves, the ability doesn't resolve. However, if instead the creature's power is increased to 3 or greater after the ability resolves, it still can't be blocked that turn.
Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Deserter's Disciple. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.
Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
