Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance ↗

Three mana for a 2/1. When it enters, each opponent discards a card, and whenever any player discards one or more cards, it deals 1 damage to each opponent.

Strategies it goes well with

  • Forced discard every turn. Bottomless Pit makes each player discard at random during their upkeep, so Tinybones deals damage to each opponent on every player's turn as long as that player has a card to discard.
  • Stacking discard punishers. Megrim and Liliana's Caress each cost an opponent 2 life per discarded card. Tinybones adds 1 damage to every opponent on top of that.
  • Turning discard into resources. Waste Not turns each opponent's discard into a Zombie, mana or a card, while Tinybones turns the same discard into damage.

How it does in Commander

As the commander

As a mono-black commander it leads a discard deck that wins through small, repeated damage to the whole table. Its 2/1 body dies to almost anything, so you will recast it often, and the enter trigger makes each recast worth something.

In the 99

In the 99 it fits any black deck built around discard. In a deck with no other discard it's a three-mana 2/1 that makes each opponent discard one card, which is a fair rate and nothing more.

Formats it's strong in

  • Mono-black discard decks. Every discard enabler and punisher in the deck adds damage, and the triggers hit each opponent at once.
  • Four-player pods. Damage to each opponent scales with the number of opponents, so a full table gets more from each trigger than a one-on-one game.

Formats it's weak in

  • Decks without discard effects. With nothing making players discard, the second ability rarely triggers after the first turn.
  • Games against heavy removal. A 2/1 is easy to kill, and the engine stops the moment it leaves the battlefield.

Synergistic cards

Is it worth the price?

A Reality Fracture uncommon, so it should be inexpensive. The set releases October 2, 2026 and early prices are still settling, but uncommons rarely hold much value.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance trigger on my own discards?

Yes. The second ability says whenever a player discards, which includes you, and the damage always goes to each opponent. Your own looting and hand-size discards count as well as theirs.

Is Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance the same card as Tinybones, Trinket Thief?

No. Tinybones, Trinket Thief is an older two-mana Skeleton that draws you a card at end of turn if an opponent discarded. Pocket Nuisance is the Reality Fracture version that deals damage instead. The names differ, so the legend rule lets you control both.

What is Tinybones's echo in Reality Fracture?

Titanbones, Towering Heart, a green 4/3 with reach that gets two +1/+1 counters whenever you gain life and gains you 3 life when you discard it. It shares the skeleton and almost nothing else.
