What it does
If you control a commander, you may cast this spell without paying its mana cost.
Counter target noncreature spell.
Rulings
2 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.
- 2020-04-17
Once you begin casting this spell, players can't take any other actions until you're done casting it. Notably, they can't try to remove the commander you control to make you pay its cost.
- 2020-04-17
It doesn't matter whose commander you control. Any one will do. If you have two commanders, you just need to control one of them.
Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

7 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly. A printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall publishes none for some of them. Click a card's art to chart that version's price above.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Fierce Guardianship. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.
Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
