Svyelun of Sea and Sky card art

Svyelun of Sea and Sky

Legendary Creature — Merfolk God MV 3

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Svyelun has indestructible as long as you control at least two other Merfolk.

Whenever Svyelun attacks, draw a card.

Other Merfolk you control have ward 1. (Whenever another Merfolk you control becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter it unless that player pays {1}.)

Rulings

2 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2021-06-18

If a player casts a spell that targets multiple permanents their opponent controls with ward, each of those ward abilities will trigger. If that player doesn't pay for all of them, the spell will be countered.

  • 2021-06-18

Damage dealt to creatures remains on those creatures until the cleanup step or until an effect removes that damage. If you control Svyelun of Sea and Sky with at least 4 damage and two other Merfolk and one of those Merfolk leaves the battlefield (or stops being a Merfolk), Svyelun will be destroyed.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

6 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly. A printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Svyelun of Sea and Sky. It runs a name search across every version, which covers the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only. No individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
