Primal Might

Sorcery MV 1

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Target creature you control gets +X/+X until end of turn. Then it fights up to one target creature you don't control. (Each deals damage equal to its power to the other.)

Rulings

4 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2020-06-23

If the creature you control is an illegal target as Primal Might tries to resolve, no creature gets +X/+X. If that creature is a legal target but the creature you don't control isn't, it still gets +X/+X.

  • 2020-06-23

If you choose two target creatures and either target is an illegal target as Primal Might tries to resolve, neither creature will deal or be dealt damage.

  • 2020-06-23

You can cast Primal Might targeting only the creature you control.

  • 2020-06-23

You can cast Primal Might with 0 as the value of X to just have the two target creatures fight.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Every version of Primal Might

9 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly — a printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall genuinely publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Primal Might — a name search across every version, for the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
