Magic Precon+ · The Lost Caverns of Ixalan

The Mycotyrant: Fungus Army

Everything you lose becomes a Fungus. A 100-card black and green Commander deck built from singles, $38.97 for every card.

The Mycotyrant card

The Mycotyrant counts every time a permanent card goes to your graveyard from anywhere: a creature card dying, a land you sacrifice, a card you mill or cycle. At the end of your turn it makes a 1/1 Fungus for each one, and its own power and toughness equal the number of Fungi and Saprolings you control.

So the deck does three things every turn. It mills its own library, it sacrifices lands to ramp, and it sacrifices creatures for cards and mana. Each of those feeds the commander, and the army it builds drains the table through Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance and Slimefoot.

One rule worth knowing: a token dying does not count, because a token is not a card. Only real cards going to the graveyard make more Fungi.
