Frequently Asked Questions

What do the strength and difficulty ratings mean?

They're TurnZero's own editorial read, not an official Wizards rating (there's no WotC rubric for "how good is this precon" the way there is a bracket rubric for deck power). Strength is a 1-5 read on how the deck performs out of the box against an average pod; difficulty is a 1-5 read on how much a precon asks of the person piloting it, from a straightforward go-wide plan to a deck with several moving parts to track at once.

Do these prices update live?

There's no price shown here on purpose. TCGplayer sells sealed product, and we don't have a live feed for sealed-deck pricing, only for individual card printings, which is a different catalog. Rather than show a number that could be stale or wrong, every precon links straight to a live TCGplayer search where the current price is the actual current price.

Are these every precon Magic has ever printed?

No, this is every precon from the sets TurnZero HQ has written a full guide for, which is most releases since 2019 but not the entire history of Commander product. If a set you're looking for isn't here yet, check its own set guide, which sometimes covers a precon before this page catches up to it.

Can I filter by color or commander?

Not yet: search by name, commander, or set, and use the set and difficulty filters to narrow the list. Each precon links to its full set guide, which usually has more on the commander and the archetype.

Whichever precon you pick, track how it actually performs.

TurnZero HQ gives every deck a win-rate record across your Commander nights, so you know if the upgrade worked.
