The core set without the Power
Revised Edition is the third core set and the first that changed the card list rather than reprinting it. It removed 35 cards that were in Unlimited, among them the Power Nine, Time Vault, Chaos Orb, Lich and Icy Manipulator, and added 39 from the first two expansions: 20 from Arabian Nights and 19 from Antiquities. That leaves 296 different cards, 306 with the basic land arts.
It is the last tournament-legal printing of the ten original dual lands, which makes Revised copies the version most Legacy and Commander players actually own. It also still has Sol Ring, Demonic Tutor and Wheel of Fortune, all of which Fourth Edition removed a year later.
Two other codes in the catalog are this same card list. Foreign Black Border (FBB) is the black-bordered, foreign-language printing of Revised, and Summer Magic (SUM) is a 1994 reprint run of it; most of that run never reached stores, so its cards are scarce. A card's legality is the same whichever of the three it came from.
Where You Can Play It
Three codes, one card list. The foreign black-bordered and Summer Magic printings are legal exactly where the white-bordered Revised cards are.
Not Standard-legal, and not Modern-legal as a set: Modern starts at Eighth Edition (July 2003). A card from here that was reprinted in a later Modern-legal set is Modern-legal in this printing too, because legality follows the card, not the printing. Legacy bans 12 of these cards, including Sol Ring, Demonic Tutor, Wheel of Fortune, Mana Vault, Mind Twist and Balance. Commander bans 7: Balance, Channel, Fastbond, Crusade and the three ante cards (Contract from Below, Darkpact and Demonic Attorney). Vintage restricts 6 and bans Crusade and the ante cards. Commons from any set are Pauper-legal; that isn't listed per set here.
Boosters, precons and singles from Revised are on TCGplayer.
FAQ
In Legacy, Vintage and Commander, minus the cards each format bans. Revised is too old for Standard, Pioneer or Modern as a set, though any card that was later reprinted in a Modern-legal set is Modern-legal in every printing.

A 1994 reprint run of Revised's card list, filed as SUM. Most of it never reached stores, which is why its cards are scarce. They are as legal as any other Revised card.
No. Revised removed the Power Nine, Time Vault, Chaos Orb and 24 other cards that were in Unlimited.
