The Titans core set
Magic 2011 is the second core set in the year-named line, and like Magic 2010 it mixes reprints with new cards: 105 of its 249 cards were new. The headline cards are the five Titans, six-mana Giants that trigger when they enter and when they attack.
Scry came back on a handful of cards. Preordain, which scrys two and then draws, debuted here, and so did Cultivate, one of the most played ramp spells in Commander.
Primeval Titan is the card to know about for legality. It is banned in Commander, while Sun Titan, Grave Titan, Inferno Titan and Frost Titan are all legal there.
Where You Can Play It
Magic 2011 shipped under a single code. It predates Pioneer, so the set is legal in Modern and the eternal formats. Some of its cards were reprinted later and are Pioneer-legal through those printings.
Not Standard-legal; Standard only ever holds the last few years of sets. Magic 2011 cards are playable in Modern, Legacy, Vintage and Commander, except that Primeval Titan is banned in Commander. Commons from any set are Pauper-legal; that isn't listed per set here.
Limited
A core set format with no set mechanic, aimed at newer players. Bombs and removal decide more games here than synergy does.
Two colors and removal
Fundamentals
Take the removal and the evasive creatures, settle on a pair, and let the Titans and other rares win the games they show up in.
Boosters, precons and singles from Magic 2011 are on TCGplayer.
