Set Phasers to Superdrop is the Secret Lair for Magic's Star Trek set, and it reaches from the original series to Lower Decks. Every card revealed so far is a reprint of an existing Magic card. Ten of them carry a Star Trek flavor name on top of their real one, and so does the promo. Nine are reversible, printed with a front on both sides.

Beam Me Up

Four reversible cards about the transporter. Every one of them exiles a creature you control and brings it back, which is what Magic players call a blink and what Starfleet calls beaming. Each card has a second side showing the same scene another way, and the flavor text is split across the two: Eerie Interlude, printed as “Beam Us Up”, starts “Thanks to modern Federation ships' duotronic computer cores, the fantastically complex process of beaming . . .” on one side and finishes “. . . is so fast and safe that it can be used to evacuate crew members from otherwise deadly emergencies” on the other.

Conjurer's Closet, as “The Transporter”, is the Commander card here: at the beginning of your end step it can blink one of your creatures, so anything with an enters ability triggers again on each of your turns. Eerie Interlude blinks as many of your creatures as you like until the next end step, which also saves them from a board wipe. Momentary Blink keeps its own name and has flashback, and Essence Flux becomes “Materialize”. None of the four uses beam me up, the new mechanic in the Star Trek set: these are older blink cards, and only the drop shares the name.

tlhIngan maH

The Klingon drop, and the strangest card frame Secret Lair has printed for a while. All five cards are reversible: one side has its name, type line and rules text in Klingon script, and the other side is the same card in English, over the same art. The drop's name is a Klingon exclamation, “We are Klingons!”, from the language guide The Klingon Way.

All five are red, and they lean into how Klingons fight. Relentless Assault untaps your attackers and gives you another combat. War's Toll taps all of an opponent's lands when they tap one for mana, and makes all their creatures attack if one does. Warstorm Surge has each creature that enters under your control deal damage equal to its power to any target, which makes it a natural partner for the blink cards in Beam Me Up. Seething Song adds five red mana, and Demand Answers draws two cards for a discard or an artifact.

The Klingon side

The English side

KHAAAAAAAAN

Six cards from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, the 1982 film, and four of them quote Khan Noonien Singh in their flavor text. Fracture carries the most famous line, which Khan borrows from Ahab in Moby-Dick: “From hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!” Buried Alive has Khan promising to leave Kirk “marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet.”

Two cards are renamed. Wrath of the Skies is “Best Served Cold”, a board wipe that lets you pick how high it reaches. Illusionist's Gambit is “Reliant's Betrayal”, after the U.S.S. Reliant, the starship Khan takes over in the film. Genesis Wave keeps its own name, which already fits a film about the Genesis device, and Commandeer steals a noncreature spell, which suits a villain who steals a starship.

Lower Decks

Star Trek: Lower Decks, the animated series, in its own cartoon style. Four of the crew are legendary creatures and their ship is a legendary Vehicle. Tendi's flavor text is “I did it! I updated the dog!”

For Commander players, this is the drop with the most to build around. Thrasios, Triton Hero (Tendi) and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept (Rutherford) both come from 2016's Commander decks and both have Partner, so the two can share the command zone in a blue, black and green deck. Thrasios turns spare mana into lands and cards, four mana at a time, and Silas Renn lets you cast an artifact from your graveyard whenever it deals combat damage to a player.

Inti, Seneschal of the Sun (Mariner) and Kambal, Profiteering Mayor (Boimler) can lead decks too: Inti rewards discarding when you attack, and Kambal copies the tokens your opponents make and drains them when you make your own. Weatherlight, the U.S.S. Cerritos, is a flying Vehicle with crew 3 that digs for artifacts, legends and Sagas when it hits a player.

Commander Spotlight

Thrasios, Triton Hero ↗

Printed as Tendi, Exploring the Future. A two-mana Partner commander in green and blue: pay four to scry 1, then reveal the top card: a land goes onto the battlefield tapped, and anything else you draw. Pair it with Silas Renn, printed here as Rutherford, for a Lower Decks command zone.

New Worlds

Ten basic lands: two each of Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain and Forest, all painted by Alayna Danner. Each is a full-art alien world, and starships cross the skies of several of them. Wizards didn't say which planets they are.

The Transporter Boondoggle Promo

For every $199.99 you spend on the superdrop, Wizards adds one foil Return of the Wildspeaker printed as “Transporter Boondoggle”, while supplies last. Leesha Hannigan painted it, and its flavor text is from Chief Montgomery Scott: “Two of the same animal, but different. One gentle, this. One mean and fierce, that.”

Return of the Wildspeaker

Printed as Transporter Boondoggle, Secret Lair promo 921. Choose one: draw cards equal to the greatest power among your non-Human creatures, or give your non-Human creatures +3/+3 until end of turn.

Every Flavor Name

A flavor name is printed on the card, with the card's real name under it. The rules only read the real name, so search for that one when you build a deck or look up a ruling.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Star Trek Secret Lair go on sale?

Set Phasers to Superdrop goes on sale November 9, 2026 at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET) on MagicSecretLair.com, four days before the Star Trek set releases on November 13. The pre-queue opens at 8 a.m. PT. It sells while supplies last.

What's in Set Phasers to Superdrop?

Six drops, five revealed so far. Beam Me Up is four reversible blink cards, including Conjurer's Closet as “The Transporter”. tlhIngan maH is five red cards with a Klingon side and an English side. KHAAAAAAAAN is six cards from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Lower Decks puts the cartoon's crew on four legends and their ship on Weatherlight. New Worlds is two of each basic land. Wizards says the sixth drop will be revealed later.

How much does each drop cost?

$29.99 non-foil and $39.99 foil per drop. Wizards also adds one foil Return of the Wildspeaker as “Transporter Boondoggle” for every $199.99 you spend, while supplies last, and orders over $99 ship free.

Is this part of the Star Trek set?

No. Star Trek is a Universes Beyond expansion sold in boosters through game stores and retailers. This is a separate Secret Lair superdrop sold direct by Wizards, timed to land the same week. Every card revealed so far is a reprint of an existing Magic card, not a card from the set.

Can I play the Klingon cards and the renamed cards in Commander?

The rules read a card's Oracle name and text, so “Tendi, Exploring the Future” is Thrasios, Triton Hero in play, and each card should be legal wherever its original is. Each reversible card has the same card on both sides, and Secret Lair's earlier reversible cards are legal in Commander wherever the card itself is. Wizards hasn't said anything specific about the Klingon side, so if your playgroup or event is strict, keep the English side handy.

Which Lower Decks cards can be a commander?

Four of the five. Mariner (Inti, Seneschal of the Sun), Boimler (Kambal, Profiteering Mayor), Rutherford (Silas Renn, Seeker Adept) and Tendi (Thrasios, Triton Hero) are legendary creatures. Rutherford and Tendi both have Partner, so they can lead one deck together in blue, black and green. The U.S.S. Cerritos is Weatherlight, a legendary Vehicle, which can't be your commander.
