Universes Beyond
Star Trek closes out 2026 as a Universes Beyond expansion with a bonus sheet (Stardates, SDS) and four Commander precons. Previews are underway rather than complete, so treat the card list below as a snapshot.
Mechanically it is the most conceptually ambitious crossover of the year: alongside starships carried over from Edge of Eternities, it turns Federation ideals and Borg assimilation into opposed mechanics — diversity of creature types on one side, absorbing everything into one body on the other.
Themes
Assimilate
The Borg mechanic, and the backbone of the We Are the Borg precon. Built around artifact creatures and absorbing what your opponents have into your own collective.
Federation
Counts the number of creature types among non-Borg creatures you control — a mechanic that literally rewards diversity, and the direct mechanical opposite of Assimilate. A neat piece of design: the two mechanics want incompatible boards.
Face a Dilemma
Turns the franchise's habit of moral choices into a game action. Full details are still coming as previews roll out.
Spacecraft
Back from Edge of Eternities, and the obvious fit for a setting built around starships.
Station
The companion mechanic to Spacecraft, crewing up a vessel over several turns until it comes online as a threat.

FAQ
November 13, 2026, with prerelease events November 6–12. It is a Universes Beyond expansion and the last Magic set of 2026. Set codes are TRK for the main set, TRC for the Commander decks, and SDS for the Stardates bonus sheet.
Three: Assimilate, the Borg mechanic built around artifact creatures; Federation, which counts the number of creature types among the non-Borg creatures you control; and Face a Dilemma, which turns the franchise's moral choices into a game action. Spacecraft and Station both return from Edge of Eternities.
They are deliberate opposites. Federation rewards a board with many different creature types, while Assimilate wants everything absorbed into the Borg collective. The two mechanics want incompatible boards, which is the design joke — and it means the set's two headline strategies pull in genuinely different directions.
Federation Fleet (Jeskai — starships and card draw from the Picard and Janeway eras), Landing Party (Bant — landfall and away-team exploration from the original series), Klingon Fury (Mardu — aggressive Warrior combat), and We Are the Borg (Esper — artifact creatures built around Assimilate).
Captain Kirk, Boldly Going; Picard, Steadfast Captain; Spock, Logical Choice; and Borg Queen, Perfection Manifest, plus Hoshi Sato, Exolinguist from Enterprise and Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner from Lower Decks. Previews are ongoing, so the list will keep growing.
