Slivers, rewritten
Magic 2014 is the fifth year-named core set, and its theme is the return of Slivers. The older Slivers gave their abilities to every Sliver on the battlefield, including an opponent's. The M14 Slivers say "Sliver creatures you control", so they only help their owner.
It is also the first core set after Return to Ravnica, so its cards are Pioneer-legal. Elvish Mystic, Strionic Resonator and Archangel of Thune debuted here, and Darksteel Forge and Door of Destinies were reprinted.
Where You Can Play It
Magic 2014 shipped under a single code. It came after Return to Ravnica, so it is Pioneer-legal as well as Modern and eternal.
Not Standard-legal. Standard only ever holds the last few years of sets, so everything this old has long since left it. These cards are still playable in Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage and Commander. Commons from any set are Pauper-legal; that isn't listed per set here.
Limited
A core set format built on fundamentals, with Slivers as the one theme that rewards drafting a creature type.
Slivers
Typal
Each Sliver improves the rest. Strong if enough come your way, and the new wording means an opponent's Slivers no longer help yours.
Two colors and removal
Fundamentals
The rest of the format plays removal, fliers and a sensible curve.
