Blood Moon

Enchantment MV 3

Tracked across real Commander games played through TurnZero HQ.

What it does

Nonbasic lands are Mountains.

Rulings

4 official rulings, in the order Wizards published them.

  • 2020-08-07

If a nonbasic land has an ability that triggers "when" it enters the battlefield, it will lose that ability before it can trigger.

  • 2020-08-07

This effect doesn't affect names or supertypes. It won't turn any land into a basic land or remove the legendary supertype from a legendary land, and the lands won't be named "Mountain."

  • 2020-08-07

Nonbasic lands will lose any other land types and abilities they had. They will gain the land type Mountain and gain the ability "T: Add ."

  • 2020-08-07

If a nonbasic land has an ability that causes it to enter the battlefield tapped, it will lose that ability before it can apply. The same is also true of any other abilities that modify how a land enters the battlefield or apply "as" a land enters the battlefield, such as the first ability of Cavern of Souls.

Rulings are Wizards of the Coast's own, mirrored from Scryfall and refreshed nightly.

Every version of Blood Moon

19 printings, newest first. Prices are the market figures Scryfall publishes, refreshed nightly — a printing with no figure shows a dash rather than a zero, because Scryfall genuinely publishes none for some of them.

Prices from Scryfall, which tracks the TCGplayer and Cardmarket markets. They move daily and are a guide rather than a quote. Search TCGplayer for Blood Moon — a name search across every version, for the printings TCGplayer publishes no direct link to.

Aggregated from Commander games tracked in TurnZero HQ. Every figure counts decks and games only — no individual deck list, player or playgroup is identified. Win rates are withheld below 5 completed games, where the sample is too small to mean anything.
