MTG Star Trek Stardates List: All 30 Cards

Stardates is 30 mythic reprints of famous Magic cards, redrawn as Star Trek characters and places. Here is every one, with its Star Trek name, its Magic name, how often you open one, and what the regular printing costs as of November 2, 2026.

The short answer

Stardates (SDS) is the bonus sheet in Magic's Star Trek set, which releases November 13, 2026. All 30 cards are borderless mythic reprints. 27 of them carry a Star Trek name with the Magic name printed underneath, so Kenrith, the Returned King is General Picard, Earth Warlord and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is Khan, Engineered Evil.

You find one in about 1 of every 25 Play Boosters, or a bit more than one for every two Collector Boosters. Each plays exactly like the original card, and it is legal in Commander, Legacy and Vintage, plus any format where the original already is. The headline reprints are Sheoldred, four lands with no tournament-legal printing under $30, and Commander staples like Tatyova, Benthic Druid and Rishkar, Peema Renegade that TurnZero HQ players already run.

In collector number order. "Cheapest other copy" is the lowest TCGplayer market price for a non-foil, tournament-legal copy of the same card in any other paper printing, which is what you pay if you only want to play it. "TurnZero HQ decks" counts the Commander decks tracked in TurnZero HQ that run the card, and how many of those it leads. Hover a name to see the card. Sources: Scryfall's Stardates list and prices, and TurnZero HQ's Commander deck data, both read November 2, 2026. Deck counts are small and come from TurnZero HQ players only, so treat them as a sign of what gets played, not a ranking.

The Stardates cards worth the most

A reprint matters most when the card has never been cheap. Ranked by the cheapest other printing, these are the Stardates cards that save you the most money if you open one. The lands are the story: four legendary or utility lands that Commander players want, none of which has a tournament-legal printing under $30 today.

Only 3 Stardates printings had a pre-order price on November 2, 2026. Sheoldred's Stardates copy was $199.99 ($244.99 in foil) against $81.23 for the cheapest regular one. Kenrith, the Returned King was $31.60, and $250.00 in foil, for a card whose cheapest copy is $0.86, and Prosper, Tome-Bound was $15.97 against $5.21. The Star Trek name and the art are what that gap pays for. Pre-order prices usually move once boxes are opened, so don't read much into them yet.

The Stardates cards Commander players already run

These are the Stardates cards that show up most in Commander decks tracked in TurnZero HQ. Most are cheap in their regular printings, so they are the ones you will see at the table rather than in a binder, and a Stardates copy is a way to make a deck you already play look like Star Trek.

For a new Commander deck, the sheet has 23 legendary creatures to lead one. The ones TurnZero HQ players have built most are Kenrith, the Returned King, a five-color commander with an ability for each color, then Isshin, Two Heavens as One and Captain Sisay. Kenrith fits the Star Trek theme better than most: a Picard that does a little of everything. If you want a Star Trek deck led by a Stardates card, our Star Trek precon comparison covers the four decks built for the set.

Who's on the sheet

Spock appears 4 times: as Bruvac the Grandiloquent (Completely Logical), Prosper, Tome-Bound (Mirror Malefactor), Riku of Many Paths (Cross-Time Captain) and Stella Lee, Wild Card (Strangely Human). Kirk and Picard get one each, as Sisay, Weatherlight Captain and Kenrith. Kathryn Janeway is Isshin, Two Heavens as One, and Christopher Pike is Captain Sisay. The Mirror Universe shows up more than once: besides Spock as Mirror Malefactor, Empress Galina is Empress Sato, Terran Tyrant and Drivnod, Carnage Dominus is Intendant Kira Nerys.

The four lands are places: Minamo, School at Water's Edge is Academy on the Bay, Talon Gates of Madara is Starbase Yorktown, Phyrexian Tower is Starfleet HQ, Under Assault, and Shizo, Death's Storehouse is the Terran Throne Room. The full Star Trek and Magic name pairs are in the table above.

How to get one, and whether to open packs for it

Wizards' collecting article gives the rates. A Stardates card takes the place of a common in 1 of every 25 Play Boosters, always non-foil. Collector Boosters have two rare or mythic Booster Fun slots, and each holds a non-foil Stardates card 23.1% of the time and a traditional foil one 5% of the time. That averages a bit more than one Stardates card for every two Collector Boosters. Foil Stardates cards come only from Collector Boosters. Products that contain Play Boosters, like the Bundle and the Prerelease Pack, can include one through those packs.

With 30 cards on the sheet, opening packs for one particular card is a long shot, and Wizards hasn't said whether every card is equally common. If you want a specific Stardates card, buy the single once prices settle after November 13. If you only want to play the card, the regular printing in the table does the same thing for a fraction of the price. Our Star Trek prerelease guide covers what else is in the packs you open on prerelease weekend.

What is Stardates in MTG Star Trek?

Stardates (set code SDS) is the Star Trek set's bonus sheet: 30 mythic rare, borderless reprints of well-known Magic cards drawn in the Star Trek universe. Most carry a Star Trek name, with the card's Magic name printed under it, so Kenrith, the Returned King is General Picard, Earth Warlord. The set releases November 13, 2026, with prereleases from November 6.

How many Stardates cards are there?

Thirty, numbered 1 to 30. 23 are legendary creatures, 4 are lands, and the rest are instants and sorceries. 27 carry a Star Trek name; Flare of Fortitude, Decree of Pain and Hull Breach keep their own.

How often do you pull a Stardates card?

Wizards says a Stardates card replaces a common in 1 of every 25 Play Boosters, and those are always non-foil. Collector Boosters have two rare or mythic Booster Fun slots, and each one is a non-foil Stardates card 23.1% of the time and a traditional foil Stardates card 5% of the time. Foil Stardates cards come only from Collector Boosters. Wizards has not said whether all 30 cards are equally common.

Are Stardates cards legal in Commander?

Yes. Wizards says Stardates cards are legal in Commander, Legacy and Vintage, and that each card is also legal in any other format where the original card already is. A Stardates card plays exactly like the original: the Magic name printed under the Star Trek name is the card's real name for rules and deckbuilding.

What is the most expensive Stardates card?

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, printed as Khan, Engineered Evil. On November 2, 2026 its Stardates printing had a TCGplayer pre-order price of $199.99, against $81.23 for the cheapest other printing. Only 3 Stardates cards had a pre-order price at all, so expect the list to fill in after release.

Can you play a Stardates card in Draft or Sealed?

Yes. Wizards says a Stardates card you open in a Play Booster can be played in Draft and Sealed, including at a prerelease. It is a mythic reprint like Sheoldred or Torbran, so it can be the best card in your pool.
