Modern horror
Duskmourn is a top-down modern-horror set built on the haunted-house trope, and it committed to the bit further than most: Rooms are the first split cards that are permanents, so the house itself is something you build across the game.
Manifest dread is the other mechanic that shapes Limited. It puts a face-down 2/2 on the board while filling your graveyard, which feeds delirium at the same time.
Themes
Rooms
The first split cards printed as permanents. Each Room has two halves you can unlock separately, so a single card becomes two enchantments you pay for at different points in the game.
Manifest dread
Look at the top two cards, put one onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2, and put the other in your graveyard. A body and graveyard fuel at once, which is why it pairs so tightly with delirium.
Impending
Cast a creature for a cheaper impending cost and it enters as a non-creature enchantment with time counters, shedding one each end step until it becomes a creature. A discount you pay for in patience.
Eerie
Triggers whenever an enchantment enters under your control or you fully unlock a Room, the mechanic that makes the set's enchantment density matter.
Survival
An ability word: triggers if the creature is tapped as your second main phase begins. It rewards attacking, which is an unusual place to put a payoff.
Delirium
Cares about four or more card types in your graveyard. Manifest dread fills the yard fast, so delirium is far easier to switch on here than in past sets.
Where You Can Play It
A release usually ships more than one set code, and they don't all share the same legality: the main set is Standard-legal while Commander cards are eternal-only. Here's each code in Duskmourn.
Standard legality is current as of August 2026. There is no rotation in 2026, but Duskmourn is a 2024 set: it leaves Standard at the February 2027 rotation, when 2025–2027 becomes the pool. Its cards stay legal in Pioneer, Modern and the eternal formats after that. Commons from any set are Pauper-legal; that isn't listed per set here.
Limited
A full ten-pair format. Manifest dread and delirium interlock across several of them, and the enchantment count is high enough that eerie is live in more decks than you'd expect.
All ten two-colour pairs
Full ten-pair format
Duskmourn supports every colour pair. Its six mechanics overlap heavily rather than each owning one archetype. Manifest dread feeding delirium is the clearest pairing.
Commander
Four precons under the DSC code.
Four Commander decks
DSC
Horror-themed precons sold alongside the set.
Building one of these into something of your own? The precon buying guide covers how to judge a deck, and the Commander deck template is the shape to build toward.
