Power of the Duelist Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Power of the Duelist is a 60-card set released August 16, 2006, with codes POTD-EN001 to POTD-EN060. All 60 cards were new.

Its new idea is Contact Fusion. Elemental HERO Neos and the Neo-Spacians are shuffled from your field into the Deck to Special Summon a Fusion such as Dark Neos, Flare Neos or Aqua Neos, with no Polymerization; those Fusions return to the Extra Deck in the End Phase unless Neo Space is on the field.

It also starts the Aliens, ten Reptile cards that place A-Counters on your opponent's monsters, and adds more Destiny HEROes, including Dogma and Dasher. On the Machine side it has Chimeratech Overdragon and Overload Fusion, and it has Future Fusion. Every Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare also comes as an Ultimate Rare.

Cards and rarities

Power of the Duelist has 60 set codes, each starting POTD-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

The 25 Ultimate Rares count again beside their regular rarity, which is why the rows add up to 85 printings for 60 set codes. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Neos, Aliens and Destiny HEROes

The set's three groups are Neos and the Neo-Spacians, the Aliens, and the Destiny HEROes continued from Enemy of Justice.

Elemental HERO Neos

POTD-EN001

A Level 7 LIGHT Warrior Normal Monster with 2500 ATK, the material every Contact Fusion in the set names.

Elemental HERO Dark Neos

POTD-EN033

Special Summoned by shuffling Neos and Neo-Spacian Dark Panther from your field into the Deck. It can target a face-up Effect Monster and negate its effects while it stays targeted.

Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin

POTD-EN003

Once per turn, discard a card to look at your opponent's hand and choose a monster; if you control one with equal or higher ATK, destroy it and deal 500 damage.

Alien Mother

POTD-EN028

When it destroys a monster with an A-Counter by battle, it takes that monster for your field at the end of the Battle Phase.

Destiny HERO - Dogma

POTD-EN014

Special Summoned by Tributing 3 monsters including a Destiny HERO. In your opponent's next Standby Phase, it halves their LP.

Cards worth knowing

Future Fusion

POTD-EN044

Sends the materials for a Fusion from your Main Deck to the GY in your 1st Standby Phase, then Fusion Summons that monster in your 2nd.

Overload Fusion

POTD-EN042

Fusion Summon a DARK Machine Fusion Monster by banishing its materials from your field or GY.

Neo Space

POTD-EN046
