Galactic Overlord Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Galactic Overlord is a 100-card set released May 8, 2012, with codes GAOV-EN000 to GAOV-EN099. 99 cards were new; one had appeared first on a sneak peek card, according to the catalog's release dates.

Its new archetype is the Hieratics: seventeen Dragon cards that Special Summon Dragon Normal Monsters from the hand, Deck or GY when they are Tributed, with Hieratic Dragon King of Atum as their Xyz. The Inzektors get nine more cards and the Bounzers five.

It has thirteen Xyz Monsters, more than any earlier set here, including Number 11: Big Eye and Number 7: Lucky Straight among the Secret Rares and Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon as the Ghost Rare.

Cards and rarities

Galactic Overlord has 100 set codes, each starting GAOV-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

The 10 Ultimate Rares and the Ghost Rare count again beside their other rarity, which is why the rows add up to 111 printings for 100 set codes. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. The set's new Hieratic Dragons and its best-known Xyz Monsters.
