Gladiator's Assault Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Gladiator's Assault is a 95-card set released November 14, 2007, with codes GLAS-EN000 to GLAS-EN094. 93 cards were new; two had appeared first on a sneak peek card and in Starter Deck: Syrus Truesdale, according to the catalog's release dates.

Its biggest archetype is the Gladiator Beasts: 23 cards that shuffle themselves back into the Deck at the end of a battle to Special Summon another Gladiator Beast, which then gains its own effect. The Cloudians, sixteen WATER Fairies built on Fog Counters, are the other new group.

It also has the first Evil HEROes, Fiend Fusions Summoned with Dark Fusion, a new Spell first printed here. Fifteen of its codes are Secret Rares, and the five at GLAS-EN090 to EN094 are five of its eight most valuable cards, and Elemental HERO Chaos Neos is also a Ghost Rare.

Cards and rarities

Gladiator's Assault has 95 set codes, each starting GLAS-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

The 14 Ultimate Rares and the Ghost Rare count again beside their other rarity, which is why the rows add up to 110 printings for 95 set codes. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Gladiator Beasts and Evil HEROes

Gladiator Beasts are the set's main archetype, and the Evil HEROes with Dark Fusion its other new group.

Gladiator Beast Laquari

GLAS-EN021

Its original ATK becomes 2100 when a Gladiator Beast Summons it. After a battle, shuffle it into the Deck to Special Summon another Gladiator Beast.

Gladiator Beast Bestiari

GLAS-EN020

When a Gladiator Beast Summons it, it destroys a Spell or Trap. It tags out after battle like the rest.

Test Tiger

GLAS-EN082

Special Summon it while you control a Gladiator Beast, then Tribute it to shuffle one back and Summon another from your Deck as if it had tagged out.

Dark Fusion

GLAS-EN047

Fusion Summon a Fiend Fusion Monster from your hand or field; your opponent cannot target it with card effects that turn. The Evil HEROes need it.

Evil HERO Malicious Edge

GLAS-EN003

An Evil HERO you can Tribute Summon with one Tribute if your opponent controls a monster. It deals piercing damage.

Playing it

No Gladiator's Assault card is on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026, so a deck can run three copies of any of them.

A Gladiator Beast only gains its effect when another Gladiator Beast's effect Summons it, so the deck runs Test Tiger and similar cards to start the chain of tag-outs.
