Ambessa in Riftbound
Ambessa has 1 Legend, 1 Signature card and 2 champion units in the released Riftbound sets. Here is every one, what it does, and how they fit together in an Ambessa deck.
Ambessa's Legend
An Ambessa deck is led by Ambessa, Matriarch of War, which plays Body and Order. The Legend is the card that leads your deck: its tag names your champion and its two domains are the only ones your other cards can come from.
| Card | Set | Domain | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ambessa, Matriarch of War | Vendetta | Body and Order | When you empower something else, empower me. (I become Empowered if I'm not already.) Disempower me, [Any Power], [Exhaust]: Ready a unit. |
Text is as Riot's card gallery gives it, with icons in brackets: [1] is 1 Energy, [Any Power] is 1 Power of any domain and [Exhaust] means turn the card sideways. Every Riftbound Legend →
Ambessa's Signature cards
Ambessa has 1 Signature card. A Signature card carries one champion's tag, and only a deck whose Legend names that champion can play it. Your deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total, counting copies.
| Card | Set | Type | Domain | Cost | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Public Execution | Vendetta | Signature spell | Body and Order | 2 | Choose a friendly unit. Kill an enemy unit with less Might than it. [Flow] [5][Any Power][Any Power] (You may play this from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.) |
Ambessa's champion units
Ambessa has 2 champion units across 1 set. One copy of a champion unit sits out as your Chosen Champion, which must carry your Legend's tag, so these are the cards an Ambessa deck picks it from. Each has its own name, and the 3-copy limit counts each name apart.

Building anAmbessa deck
A Riftbound deck has 1 Legend, a main deck of at least 40 cards, 12 runes and 3 battlefields. Every card in the main deck has to come from your Legend's two domains, which decides which of Ambessa's cards each Legend can use.
| Legend | Domains | Chosen Champion options | Signature cards in its domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ambessa, Matriarch of War | Body and Order | Ambessa, The Wolf, Ambessa, Respected and Feared | Public Execution |
A champion unit can be your Chosen Champion only if every domain it has is one of your Legend's two. Units of other champions can still go in your main deck as ordinary cards if their domains fit. The full deck-building rules → Published Riftbound decks →
