Riftbound

Every Riftbound Legend

A Legend is the card that leads a Riftbound deck: it names your champion and sets your two domains. Here are all 49 released so far, which domain pairs they lead, what each one does, and which printings are worth the most.

Five Riftbound Legends from four sets fanned out: Jinx, Loose Cannon, Irelia, Blade Dancer, Heart of the Tempest in front, Rengar, Pridestalker and Akali, Rogue Assassin.

What a Legend does

Every Riftbound deck has exactly one Legend, and it decides three things. Its tag names your champion, so your Chosen Champion and any Signature cards must carry the same tag. Its two domains are the only ones your deck can play. And its ability is something you can use every game, since the Legend is on the table from the start rather than shuffled into your deck.

A Legend's big name is a title rather than the champion's name. Jinx's Legend is Loose Cannon; Kennen's is Heart of the Tempest. Most sites, this one included, write it as "Jinx, Loose Cannon" so you can tell whose it is.

Legends by domain pair

Six domains make 15 pairs. Origins, Spiritforged and Unleashed each covered the same 12, so Fury and Calm, Mind and Body, and Order and Chaos had no Legend until Vendetta's Akali, Jayce and Kennen. Every pair now has one, but those three still have only that one, while Fury and Chaos and Body and Order have five each.

Legends in competitive play

Riot's Regional Qualifiers are the best public evidence of which Legends are strongest. At the Singapore qualifier in early September 2026, five of the Top 8 played Kennen's Heart of the Tempest, two played Master Yi's Wuju Bladesman, and Akali, Rogue Assassin won.

At Los Angeles at the end of September, after the September 18 bans, Rengar, Pridestalker won. The Top 8 had two Irelia, Blade Dancer decks, two Azir, Emperor of the Sands, and one each of Rengar, Akali, Ornn and Master Yi. Irelia was the most played Legend on the first day.

Results like these move with every set and ban list, and 2v2 is a different format: Master Yi's Wuju Bladesman is banned there. The cards those decks share →

The most valuable Legend printings

Every Legend from Origins, Unleashed and Vendetta has an overnumbered printing with new art and a signature printing marked with an asterisk; Spiritforged's have the overnumbered printing only. Those are where the value is. These were the ten most valuable on October 2, 2026.

Choosing a Legend

Start from the ability, not the champion. A Legend's ability is the one thing your deck does every game, so the rest of the deck should feed it: Azir, Emperor of the Sands wants Equipment, and Heart of the Tempest wants cards you can play from your trash.

Then check the champion units. Your Chosen Champion has to share the Legend's tag, so a Legend whose champion has only one or two units gives you less choice. Every Legend from Origins onward has at least two matching units in its own set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Legend in Riftbound?

The card that leads your deck. A Legend names one champion in its tag, sets the two domains every other card in your deck has to come from, and has an ability you can use during the game. It sits outside your main deck, and every deck has exactly one.

How many Legends are in Riftbound?

49 Legend cards across the sets released by October 2, 2026: 12 each in Origins, Spiritforged and Unleashed, 9 in Vendetta and 4 in the Proving Grounds starter box. They cover 48 champions, since Master Yi has two.

What is the best Riftbound Legend?

It depends on the format and changes with each set and ban list. At the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier in late September 2026, Rengar, Pridestalker won, Irelia, Blade Dancer was the most played Legend on the first day, and the Top 8 also had Azir, Akali, Ornn and Master Yi's Wuju Bladesman.

Are any Riftbound Legends banned?

One, in one format. Master Yi's Proving Grounds Legend, Wuju Bladesman, has been banned in 2v2 Constructed since July 24, 2026. It is still legal in 1v1 Standard.

What is the most valuable Riftbound Legend?

On October 2, 2026, the signature printing of Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox from Origins (303*/298), followed by Vendetta's Akali, Rogue Assassin and Origins' Kai'Sa, Daughter of the Void. Main-set printings of the same Legends sell for a dollar or two.
