Kennen in Riftbound
Kennen has 1 Legend, 1 Signature card and 2 champion units in the released Riftbound sets. Here is every one, what it does, and how they fit together in a Kennen deck.
Kennen's Legend
A Kennen deck is led by Kennen, Heart of the Tempest, which plays Order and Chaos. The Legend is the card that leads your deck: its tag names your champion and its two domains are the only ones your other cards can come from.
| Card | Set | Domain | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kennen, Heart of the Tempest | Vendetta | Order and Chaos | When you play a card from anywhere other than your hand, empower me. [Action][>] Disempower me, [Exhaust]: Give a unit [Assault 2] this turn. (+2 [Might] while it's an attacker.) |
Text is as Riot's card gallery gives it, with icons in brackets: [1] is 1 Energy, [Any Power] is 1 Power of any domain and [Exhaust] means turn the card sideways. Every Riftbound Legend →
Kennen's Signature cards
Kennen has 1 Signature card. A Signature card carries one champion's tag, and only a deck whose Legend names that champion can play it. Your deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total, counting copies.
| Card | Set | Type | Domain | Cost | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Rush | Vendetta | Signature spell | Order and Chaos | 1 | Look at the top 3 cards of your Main Deck. You may choose a card from among them and draw it. Put the rest into your trash. [Flow] [2][Any Power] (You may play this from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.) |
Kennen's champion units
Kennen has 2 champion units across 1 set. One copy of a champion unit sits out as your Chosen Champion, which must carry your Legend's tag, so these are the cards a Kennen deck picks it from. Each has its own name, and the 3-copy limit counts each name apart.

| Kennen, Storm of Shuriken | Vendetta | Chaos | Epic | 3 | 4 | When you play me, [Burn 2]. (Put the top 2 cards of your Main Deck into your trash.) When I conquer, give a spell in your trash [Flow] equal to its cost this turn. (You may play it from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.) |
| Kennen, Keeper of Balance | Vendetta | Order | Rare | 3 | 2 | [Hidden] (Hide now for [Any Power] to react with later for [0].) When you play me or I attack, you may pay [2] to [Stun] a unit. (It doesn't deal combat damage this turn.) While there's a stunned enemy unit here, I have +2 [Might]. |
Building aKennen deck
A Riftbound deck has 1 Legend, a main deck of at least 40 cards, 12 runes and 3 battlefields. Every card in the main deck has to come from your Legend's two domains, which decides which of Kennen's cards each Legend can use.
| Legend | Domains | Chosen Champion options | Signature cards in its domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kennen, Heart of the Tempest | Order and Chaos | Kennen, Storm of Shuriken, Kennen, Keeper of Balance | Lightning Rush |
A champion unit can be your Chosen Champion only if every domain it has is one of your Legend's two. Units of other champions can still go in your main deck as ordinary cards if their domains fit. The full deck-building rules → Published Riftbound decks →
