Vex in Riftbound
Vex has 1 Legend, 1 Signature card and 3 champion units in the released Riftbound sets. Here is every one, what it does, and how they fit together in a Vex deck.
Vex's Legend
A Vex deck is led by Vex, Gloomist, which plays Calm and Chaos. The Legend is the card that leads your deck: its tag names your champion and its two domains are the only ones your other cards can come from.
| Card | Set | Domain | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vex, Gloomist | Unleashed | Calm and Chaos | When you or an ally hold, you may exhaust me to draw 1. |
Text is as Riot's card gallery gives it, with icons in brackets: [1] is 1 Energy, [Any Power] is 1 Power of any domain and [Exhaust] means turn the card sideways. Every Riftbound Legend →
Vex's Signature cards
Vex has 1 Signature card. A Signature card carries one champion's tag, and only a deck whose Legend names that champion can play it. Your deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total, counting copies.
| Card | Set | Type | Domain | Cost | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shadow | Unleashed | Signature unit | Calm and Chaos | 3 | If you play me to a battlefield, I enter ready. [Action][>] [1][Any Power], [Exhaust]: [Stun] an enemy unit attacking here. (It doesn't deal combat damage this turn.) |
Vex's champion units
Vex has 3 champion units across 2 sets. One copy of a champion unit sits out as your Chosen Champion, which must carry your Legend's tag, so these are the cards a Vex deck picks it from. Each has its own name, and the 3-copy limit counts each name apart.

Building aVex deck
A Riftbound deck has 1 Legend, a main deck of at least 40 cards, 12 runes and 3 battlefields. Every card in the main deck has to come from your Legend's two domains, which decides which of Vex's cards each Legend can use.
| Legend | Domains | Chosen Champion options | Signature cards in its domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vex, Gloomist | Calm and Chaos | Vex, Cheerless, Vex, Mocking, Vex, Apathetic | Shadow |
A champion unit can be your Chosen Champion only if every domain it has is one of your Legend's two. Units of other champions can still go in your main deck as ordinary cards if their domains fit. The full deck-building rules → Published Riftbound decks →
