Zed in Riftbound
Zed has 1 Legend, 1 Signature card and 2 champion units in the released Riftbound sets. Here is every one, what it does, and how they fit together in a Zed deck.
Zed's Legend
A Zed deck is led by Zed, Master of Shadows, which plays Fury and Chaos. The Legend is the card that leads your deck: its tag names your champion and its two domains are the only ones your other cards can come from.
| Card | Set | Domain | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zed, Master of Shadows | Vendetta | Fury and Chaos | When you banish a card you own, empower me. (I become Empowered if I'm not already.) [Action][>] Disempower me, [Exhaust]: Discard 1, then draw 1. |
Text is as Riot's card gallery gives it, with icons in brackets: [1] is 1 Energy, [Any Power] is 1 Power of any domain and [Exhaust] means turn the card sideways. Every Riftbound Legend →
Zed's Signature cards
Zed has 1 Signature card. A Signature card carries one champion's tag, and only a deck whose Legend names that champion can play it. Your deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total, counting copies.
| Card | Set | Type | Domain | Cost | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Death Mark | Vendetta | Signature spell | Fury and Chaos | 2 | [Burn 3]. (Put the top 3 cards of your Main Deck into your trash.) Play a 0 [Might] Shadow Clone unit token. (It has "When I attack, you may banish a unit from your trash. If you do, give me [Assault 4] this turn.") [Flow] [1][Any Power][Any Power] (You may play this from your trash for its Flow cost. Then banish it.) |
Zed's champion units
Zed has 2 champion units across 1 set. One copy of a champion unit sits out as your Chosen Champion, which must carry your Legend's tag, so these are the cards a Zed deck picks it from. Each has its own name, and the 3-copy limit counts each name apart.
| Card | Set | Domain | Rarity | Cost | Might | Rules text |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zed, From the Shadows | Vendetta | Fury | Epic | 4 | 4 | You may discard 1 as an additional cost to play me. When you play me, if you paid the additional cost, play a 0 [Might] Shadow Clone unit token. (It has "When I attack, you may banish a unit from your trash. If you do, give me [Assault 4] this turn.") |
| Zed, Without a Sound | Vendetta | Chaos | Rare | 5 | 5 | When I conquer, play a 0 [Might] Shadow Clone unit token to your base. (It has "When I attack, you may banish a unit from your trash. If you do, give me [Assault 4] this turn.") [Action][>] [1][Chaos]: Move me and a Shadow Clone you control to each other's locations. |
Building aZed deck
A Riftbound deck has 1 Legend, a main deck of at least 40 cards, 12 runes and 3 battlefields. Every card in the main deck has to come from your Legend's two domains, which decides which of Zed's cards each Legend can use.
| Legend | Domains | Chosen Champion options | Signature cards in its domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zed, Master of Shadows | Fury and Chaos | Zed, From the Shadows, Zed, Without a Sound | Death Mark |
A champion unit can be your Chosen Champion only if every domain it has is one of your Legend's two. Units of other champions can still go in your main deck as ordinary cards if their domains fit. The full deck-building rules → Published Riftbound decks →
