Crimson Crisis Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Crimson Crisis is a 100-card set released March 3, 2009, with codes CRMS-EN000 to CRMS-EN099. 99 cards were new; one had appeared first on a sneak peek participation card, according to the catalog's release dates.

Its largest group is Assault Mode: fifteen cards, most of them stronger versions of earlier Synchro Monsters such as Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode, Summoned from the Deck by Tributing the original with the Trap Assault Mode Activate.

It also starts the Blackwings, DARK Winged Beasts that Special Summon themselves while you control another Blackwing, with Blackwing Armor Master as their Synchro. The usual format holds: Secret Rares, ten Ultra Rares also as Ultimate Rares, and Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode at Ultra, Ultimate and Ghost Rare.

Cards and rarities

Crimson Crisis has 100 set codes, each starting CRMS-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

The 10 Ultimate Rares and the Ghost Rare count again beside their other rarity, which is why the rows add up to 111 printings for 100 set codes. Assault Mode Activate

Tribute a Synchro Monster to Special Summon from your Deck the /Assault Mode monster whose name includes it.

Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode

Special Summoned only with Assault Mode Activate. When it attacks, every other monster is destroyed after damage calculation, and if it is destroyed it brings back Red Dragon Archfiend.

Blackwing Armor Master

A Synchro for a Blackwing Tuner. It cannot be destroyed by battle, you take no battle damage from its battles, and it places Wedge Counters to cut ATK and DEF to 0.

Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind

A Blackwing Tuner that Special Summons itself while you control another Blackwing and halves an opponent's monster's ATK and DEF once per turn.

Blackwing - Bora the Spear

CRMS-EN009

Special Summons itself while you control another Blackwing, and deals piercing damage.

A Tuner: when Normal Summoned, revive a monster with 500 or less ATK from your GY with its effects negated. It can only be used for a Dragon's Synchro Summon.

The Unlimited Ultimate Rare was $196.61, almost the same as the 1st Edition, and the Ultra Rare version of the same code was $21.70.

It is a Level 7 DARK Winged Beast Synchro Monster for 1 Blackwing Tuner and 1 or more non-Tuners. It cannot be destroyed by battle, you take no battle damage from battles involving it, and the Wedge Counters it places let you set a monster's ATK and DEF to 0.
