Top rarity Gold Rare

Gold Series 2009 is a 50-card reprint set released April 21, 2009, with codes GLD2-EN001 to GLD2-EN050. Every card had been printed before, many first in Strike of Neos, Invasion of Chaos and Gladiator's Assault.

Where the first Gold Series was a spread of popular cards, this one has two clear groups: six Monarchs, from Zaborg the Thunder Monarch to Caius the Shadow Monarch, and ten Six Samurai cards with their Spells and Traps.

Eighteen cards are Gold Rares and 32 are Commons. TCGplayer prices the set only as Limited Edition, so the prices here are Limited Edition.

Cards and rarities

Gold Series 2009 has 50 set codes, each starting GLD2-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

RarityCardsWhat they are

Gold Rare18Eighteen cards, among them Dark Armed Dragon, Caius the Shadow Monarch, Gold Sarcophagus and Bottomless Trap Hole.

Each code is printed at a single rarity, so the rows add up to the set's 50 cards. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Monarchs and Six Samurai

The set's two groups are reprinted here as a set's worth of each deck.

Cards worth knowing

The set's other Gold Rares are generic cards. Gold Sarcophagus and Solemn Judgment are Limited, and Giant Trunade is Forbidden.
