Invasion of Chaos is a 112-card set released March 1, 2004, with codes IOC-000 to IOC-111. 111 of its cards were new; Levia-Dragon - Daedalus had appeared first as a Hobby League participation card, according to the catalog's release dates.

The set is named for its Chaos monsters, which are Special Summoned from the hand by banishing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your GY. Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End and Chaos Sorcerer all work this way, and they shaped how the game was played for years.

Alongside them are the first Ojama cards, Ninjas, D.D. monsters and Dark Magician of Chaos, the set's most valuable card.

The catalog files 243 printings under the set, adding IOC-EN codes from another printing. This guide covers the 112 IOC- codes.

Cards and rarities

Invasion of Chaos has 112 set codes, each starting IOC- and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

Ultra Rare10Dark Magician of Chaos, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Dimension Fusion and seven more.
Secret Rare2Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End (IOC-000) and Invader of Darkness (IOC-111).

Each IOC- code is printed at a single rarity, so the rows add up to the set's 112 cards. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. The Chaos monsters

Three monsters in the set share one summoning condition: banish 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your GY. A fourth, Dark Magician of Chaos, is the set's chase card.
