Light of Destruction is a 100-card set released May 13, 2008, with codes LODT-EN000 to LODT-EN099. 99 cards were new; one had appeared first on a sneak peek participation card, according to the catalog's release dates.

Its main archetype is the Lightsworn: sixteen LIGHT cards that send cards from the top of your Deck to the GY, usually in the End Phase, and Judgment Dragon, which needs 4 Lightsworn monsters with different names in your GY. Thirteen Arcana Force cards are the other group, Fairies whose effects depend on a coin toss when they are Summoned.

The set follows Phantom Darkness's format: ten Secret Rares, ten Ultra Rares also printed as Ultimate Rares, and one Ghost Rare, Honest (LODT-EN001), which is also a Secret Rare.

Cards and rarities

Light of Destruction has 100 set codes, each starting LODT-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

RarityCardsWhat they are
Common48
Rare20
Super Rare12
Ultra Rare10
Secret Rare10Ten codes, from Guardian of Order (LODT-EN000) to Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo (LODT-EN099), Judgment Dragon among them.
Ultimate Rare10Every Ultra Rare code, each also printed as an Ultra Rare.
Ghost Rare1Honest (LODT-EN001), which is also a Secret Rare.

The 10 Ultimate Rares and the Ghost Rare count again beside their other rarity, which is why the rows add up to 111 printings for 100 set codes. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. How set completion works →

Lightsworn and Arcana Force

The Lightsworn are the set's main archetype and Judgment Dragon its boss; the Arcana Forces are its coin-toss monsters.

Cards worth knowing

Four more cards from Light of Destruction. Substitoad is Limited, and Summon Limit and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo are Forbidden.

Prices

The catalog has no TCGplayer price for any Light of Destruction printing as of October 23, 2026, in 1st Edition or Unlimited, so this guide has no chase list and makes no claim about which card is most valuable. The set's top rarities are its ten Secret Rares, Judgment Dragon among them, and the Ghost Rare Honest. How Yu-Gi-Oh! card prices work →

Playing it

3 cards from Light of Destruction are on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026: Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo and Summon Limit are Forbidden; Substitoad is Limited. A Forbidden card cannot be played at all and a Limited card at one copy per deck; the rest of the set can be run at three.

Most Lightsworn monsters send cards from the top of your Deck to the GY each End Phase, so a Lightsworn deck fills its GY quickly, which is what Judgment Dragon and Wulf, Lightsworn Beast need, but it can also run itself out of cards in a long game.
