Dark Legends Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Dark Legends is a 113-card reprint set released November 21, 2008, with codes DLG1-EN000 to DLG1-EN112. Its one new card is the Secret Rare Gorz the Emissary of Darkness (DLG1-EN000).

Much of its list matches Retro Pack, released four months earlier: cards first printed in Magic Ruler, Metal Raiders and Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon, including all five Exodia pieces. The last codes add newer reprints such as Card Trooper, Dark Bribe, Nova Summoner, Gellenduo, Destiny HERO - Malicious and Destiny Draw.

TCGplayer prices the set in Unlimited, which covers 110 of its printings, so the prices here are Unlimited. Gorz's Secret Rare is priced only as Limited Edition, at $6.46, and is left out of the chase list.

Cards and rarities

Dark Legends has 113 set codes, each starting DLG1-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

Each code is printed at a single rarity, so the rows add up to the set's 113 cards. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Reprinted classics

Dark Legends mixes the first sets' famous cards with newer ones. These are the cards most players know.

Gorz the Emissary of Darkness

DLG1-EN000

New here: if you control no cards and take damage from an opponent's card, Special Summon it from your hand. Battle damage also gives you a token with ATK equal to the damage; effect damage is dealt back to your opponent.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

DLG1-EN002

The Level 8 LIGHT Dragon Normal Monster with 3000 ATK, a Super Rare here.

Exodia the Forbidden One

DLG1-EN022

Hold it with all four limbs of the Forbidden One to win the Duel. All five pieces are in the set.

Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon

DLG1-EN001

A Fusion of three Blue-Eyes White Dragons with 4500 ATK, a Super Rare here.

Cards worth knowing

The newer reprints at the end of the set hold most of its value.

Card Trooper

DLG1-EN107

Once per turn, mill up to 3 cards to gain 500 ATK each for the turn, and draw a card when it is destroyed and sent to your GY.

Dark Bribe

DLG1-EN106

A Counter Trap: when your opponent activates a Spell or Trap, they draw a card and the activation is negated and destroyed.

Nova Summoner

DLG1-EN111

When destroyed by battle, Special Summon a LIGHT Fairy with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck.

Sangan

DLG1-EN037

When sent from the field to the GY, add a monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.

The chase card: Card Trooper

Rarity Ultra Rare

Set code DLG1-EN107

Unlimited market price, October 23, 2026 $55.00

The Ultra Rare Card Trooper (DLG1-EN107) was the set's most valuable priced card on October 23, 2026, at $55.00 in Unlimited. The Ultra Rare Dark Bribe was next at $45.86.

It is a Level 3 EARTH Machine with 400 ATK. Once per turn it can send 1 to 3 cards from the top of your Deck to the GY to gain 500 ATK for each until the end of the turn, and when it is destroyed and sent to your GY you draw a card.

Every set code in Dark Legends, in set code order, with each rarity it is printed at: 113 set codes in all, as listed in TurnZero HQ's catalog on October 23, 2026. Each name goes to that card's page, with today's price for every printing.

Playing it

12 cards from Dark Legends are on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026: Giant Trunade, Graceful Charity, Heavy Storm and Painful Choice are Forbidden; Card Destruction, Exodia the Forbidden One, Left Arm of the Forbidden One, Left Leg of the Forbidden One, Monster Reborn, Right Arm of the Forbidden One, Right Leg of the Forbidden One and Solemn Judgment are Limited. A Forbidden card cannot be played at all and a Limited card at one copy per deck; the rest of the set can be run at three.

Apart from Gorz, every card is a reprint, so a Dark Legends copy plays the same as the original printing.
