Overview

Release date February 19, 2026
Set code MZMU
Cards 127 set codes, 142 printings
Product Booster set
Base rarity Rare
New cards 57 of 126

Maze of Muertos is a booster set with Rare as its base rarity, so it has no Commons. 70 of its 127 set codes are Rare, and 15 cards also come as Collector's Rares.

It mixes new cards with reprints. 57 of its 126 different cards are new, first released with the set on February 19, 2026, and the other 69 are reprints of cards going back to 2002.

Uria, Lord of Searing Flames is printed twice, as a Starlight Rare at MZMU-EN000 and as a Rare at MZMU-EN074, which is why the set has 127 set codes for 126 cards. It is the set's only Starlight Rare.

Cards and rarities

Maze of Muertos has 127 set codes, each starting MZMU-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

RarityCardsWhat they are
Rare70The base rarity.
Super Rare21
Ultra Rare19
Secret Rare16Ten older cards reprinted at Secret Rare only (MZMU-EN058 to EN067), and six new cards that also come as Collector's Rares.
Collector's Rare15Each one is also printed at another rarity in the set.
Starlight Rare1Uria, Lord of Searing Flames (MZMU-EN000).

The 15 Collector's Rares share their set codes with a Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare or Secret Rare version, so they count twice, and the rows add up to 142 printings. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Themes

Most of the new cards in Maze of Muertos support existing themes. The largest group is ten new cards, MZMU-EN001 to EN010, built around Call of the Haunted and Zombie monsters, and the most valuable group is the Dark Magician support.

Cards worth knowing

The set also prints and reprints cards that do not belong to one theme. A few worth knowing:

The chase card: Dark Magician of Destruction

Rarity Collector's Rare
Set code MZMU-EN011
1st Edition market price, September 30, 2026 $128.46

The Collector's Rare Dark Magician of Destruction is the chase card in Maze of Muertos. It was $128.46 on September 30, the only printing in the set above $100.

The Secret Rare of the same card was $97.96, about $30 less, so both versions are among the set's most valuable printings.

The next card down shows that the Collector's Rare is not always the pricier version. The Gaze of Timaeus was $91.83 as a Secret Rare and $84.74 as a Collector's Rare.

Playing it

No Maze of Muertos card was on the Forbidden & Limited List on October 1, 2026.

The Call of the Haunted cards build on one Trap. Pumpking the King of Grave Ghosts Sets it, Stare of the Snake Hair and Pumpking the Great Ghost King search it, Call of the Forgotten Sets up to three copies, and the set reprints Call of the Haunted itself at Rare and Collector's Rare.

Many of the reprints are support for older archetypes, with several cards each for Darklord, the Magnet Warriors, Adamancipator and Vampire. Most of those Rares were under 25 cents on September 30, so if you play one of those decks they are a cheap way to pick up copies.
