Overview

Release date July 2, 2026
Set code CORI
Cards 100 set codes, 129 printings
Product Core booster set
Top rarity Starlight Rare (25 cards)

Chaos Origins is the third core booster set of 2026, after Burst Protocol and Blazing Dominion. Its 100 cards follow the core set pattern of 50 Commons, 26 Super Rares, 18 Ultra Rares and 10 Secret Rares, and 25 of those cards are also printed as Starlight Rares.

Every card in the set is new. The catalog dates all 100 to July 2, 2026, and only three of them, Astrazma Urania, Hyperinvoked Aeon and Pot of Sloth, have been printed anywhere else since, in Winner's Pack 2026-2027.

The center of the set is a Ritual pair. Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos and Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness are both Ritual Summoned with Light and Darkness Ritual, and ten cards, the Ritual Spell included, belong to that theme. Eleven more support the Sacred Beasts, and Blitzclique and Angelechy each get a theme of their own.

Cards and rarities

Chaos Origins has 100 set codes, each starting CORI-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

RarityCardsWhat they are
Common50
Super Rare26
Ultra Rare18
Secret Rare10
Starlight Rare25A second printing of 25 cards from the rarities above, and the set's main chase cards.

Four cards come at three rarities: Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos, Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness, The Chaotic Phantasmal Sacred Beasts and Phara the Primordial Goddess are each printed as Ultra Rare, Secret Rare and Starlight Rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Archetypes

Four themes take up most of Chaos Origins: the Light and Darkness Ritual cards, the Sacred Beasts, Blitzclique and Angelechy. Smaller packages for Invoked and Aleister, The Phantom Knights, S-Force and Melffy fill out the rest.

Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos, CORI-EN027

Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos

CORI-EN027

Ritual Summoned with Light and Darkness Ritual, and unaffected by your opponent's activated effects unless they target it. When Special Summoned it adds a Spell from your GY to your hand, and it can banish 1 card your opponent controls face-down.

Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness, CORI-EN028

Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness

CORI-EN028

The other Light and Darkness Ritual monster. It can't be destroyed by battle, banishes 1 card your opponent controls when Special Summoned, and after destroying a monster by battle can gain 1500 ATK and attack again.

Sacred Beasts Released, CORI-EN047

Sacred Beasts Released

CORI-EN047

Adds 3 Sacred Beast monsters with different names from your Deck to your hand, then you discard 2. Later, you can banish it from the GY to add a Level 10 Pyro, Thunder or Fiend that can't be Normal Summoned.

The Chaotic Phantasmal Sacred Beasts, CORI-EN029

The Chaotic Phantasmal Sacred Beasts

CORI-EN029

A 5000 ATK Fusion Monster made from 3 Level 10 monsters that can't be Normal Summoned. Up to three times a turn it negates a face-up monster your opponent controls, and the first two times each turn it would be destroyed by a card effect, it isn't.

Surge Blitzclique, CORI-EN011

Surge Blitzclique

CORI-EN011

Reveal it from your hand to destroy a monster on the field and Special Summon a Thunder monster from your hand. While it is on the field, another card destroyed by a card effect lets you add a Blitzclique monster from your Deck.

Angelechy Opening to e4, CORI-EN096

Angelechy Opening to e4

CORI-EN096

Places an Angelechy Field Spell, Special Summons a Level 2 or 7 Angelechy monster from your Extra Deck, and places another Angelechy monster in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. If your opponent goes first, you can activate it from your hand in their first Standby Phase.

Cards worth knowing

A few cards outside the main themes do something a wider range of decks can use, within the limits printed on them.

Playing it

The Light and Darkness Ritual cards are built to find each other. Skull Archfiend of Chaos sends a Ritual Spell to the GY to add a Ritual Monster that spell names, Celtic Mystic Tributes itself to Special Summon a Light and Darkness Ritual monster from your hand, and Light and Darkness Ritual returns itself and another card that mentions it from the GY to your hand.

The Sacred Beasts play differently. Uria, Hamon and Raviel can't be Normal Summoned and must be Special Summoned by a Sacred Beast card's effect, so the deck leans on Sacred Beasts Released to find them and on Summoner of the Sacred Beasts, which Special Summons Sacred Beast monsters from your hand or GY in Defense Position.

None of the 100 cards in Chaos Origins was on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 1, 2026, so you can run three copies of any of them.
