Pharaonic Guardian is a 108-card set released July 18, 2003, with codes PGD-000 to PGD-107. All 108 cards were new.

It is the first English set with a real archetype at its center. Thirteen cards carry the Gravekeeper's name or support it, led by Gravekeeper's Spy and the Field Spell Necrovalley, which stops cards in the GY from being banished or moved.

Its value is spread thin. On October 23, 2026 only three printings were above $40, and a Common, Raigeki Break, was among the ten most valuable cards. The catalog lists no other code formats for this set, so its 108 entries are its 108 cards.

Cards and rarities

Pharaonic Guardian has 108 set codes, each starting PGD- and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

Super Rare10
Ultra Rare10Helpoemer, Don Zaloog, Nightmare Wheel, Guardian Sphinx, Byser Shock and five more.
Secret Rare2Ring of Destruction (PGD-000) and Lava Golem (PGD-107).

Each PGD- code is printed at a single rarity, so the rows add up to the set's 108 cards. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. Gravekeeper's

Gravekeeper's is the set's archetype: Spellcasters that flip, search each other, and lean on Necrovalley to lock the GY.

Cards worth knowing

Pharaonic Guardian's other notable cards are generic Spells and Traps, two of them now Limited.

The chase card: Ring of Destruction

Rarity Secret Rare
Set code PGD-000
1st Edition market price, October 23, 2026 $51.19

The 1st Edition Secret Rare Ring of Destruction (PGD-000) is Pharaonic Guardian's chase card, at $51.19 on October 23, 2026. The 1st Edition Ultra Rare Helpoemer was a dollar behind at $49.99.

The Unlimited copy of PGD-000 was $37.72, close to the 1st Edition price.

It is a Normal Trap you activate in your opponent's turn. It destroys a face-up monster whose ATK is less than or equal to your opponent's LP, deals you damage equal to its original ATK, and deals your opponent the same.

Rarity is in the foil rather than the set code, so check it before you price the copy in your hand. Reading the set code and rarity →

Playing it

3 cards from Pharaonic Guardian are on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026: Trap Dustshoot is Forbidden; Reasoning and Terraforming are Limited. A Forbidden card cannot be played at all and a Limited card at one copy per deck; the rest of the set can be run at three.

Necrovalley stops your own GY effects as well as your opponent's, which is why Gravekeeper's Chief exempts its owner's GY from it.
