Pokémon TCG · 2011 Set Guide
The last set before Black & White: no Primes or LEGEND, but eleven shiny legendary Pokémon numbered SL1 to SL11.
Call of Legends came out on February 9, 2011, with 106 cards: 86 Pokémon, 10 Trainers and 10 Energy. It has no Pokémon Prime or LEGEND, and 33 of its cards are Rare Holo, more than any other HeartGold & SoulSilver set.
Eleven of those holos sit above the printed total of 95, numbered SL1 to SL11: shiny versions of legendary Pokémon, from Deoxys to Suicune. The Black & White series followed in April 2011.
Call of Legends has 106 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/95". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.
The printed total is 95. The 11 SL cards above it are Rare Holo shiny legendary Pokémon. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. Call of Legends' chase card is the Rayquaza holo, 20/95, illustrated by Ryo Ueda, at $1,013.27 on October 22, 2026. Its Reverse Holofoil copy was $562.15.
The shiny legendaries follow: Ho-Oh ($833.32), Suicune ($799.97) and the shiny Rayquaza ($750.00).
Rayquaza is printed twice in the set, as 20/95 and the shiny SL10.
| Version | Number | Market price, October 22, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Rare Holo, Reverse Holofoil | 20/95 | $562.15 |
| Rare Holo, Holofoil | 20/95 | $1,013.27 |
| Rare Holo | SL10/95 | $750.00 |
Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →
The Rayquaza holo and shiny legendaries, priced as holofoil copies. The price for Suicune (October 21) is the last the catalog read before October 22, 2026.

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026, except where a row gives an earlier day because the catalog had no newer price. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. One copy of every card in Call of Legends, bought as singles, cost $7,834.52 on October 22, 2026. That is the most expensive of the five sets in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series.
The three most valuable cards, Ho-Oh, Suicune and Rayquaza, come to $2,383.29, or 30% of the total. Without them the set costs $5,451.23. Of the 106 cards, 50 were under $2.00, together $39.85; the other 56 add up to $7,794.67.
One card's price is older than October 22, 2026, because the catalog had no newer one: Suicune (SL11), $799.97 on October 21. It is counted at that price.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Call of Legends is not legal in Standard or Expanded as a set: Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011. The catalog marks ten of its 106 cards as legal anyway, eight of them in Standard too.
They are the eight basic Energy, which are always legal; and Copycat and Magikarp, legal in Expanded only.
Each card other than basic Energy shares its name and text with a later, legal printing, which is what makes an older copy playable. Every other card in the set is legal in neither format.
