Pokémon TCG · 2008 Set Guide
Glaceon and Leafeon's first set, with a LV.X of each, Garchomp LV.X, and holos of Mewtwo, Palkia and Darkrai.
Majestic Dawn came out on May 1, 2008, with 100 cards: 82 Pokémon, 13 Trainers and 5 Energy. It printed Glaceon and Leafeon, each as a holo and a LV.X, beside the other Eeveelutions, and its four Pokémon LV.X are Garchomp LV.X, Glaceon LV.X, Leafeon LV.X and Porygon-Z LV.X.
It has no secret rares. Its Trainers include Dawn Stadium, Quick Ball, Old Amber and two fossils.
Majestic Dawn has 100 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/100". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.
The printed total is 100 and nothing is numbered above it. The four Pokémon LV.X are 97 to 100. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. Two LV.X and the Glaceon holo:
Glaceon LV.X
Majestic Dawn #98
Put onto your Active Glaceon. Chilly Breath stops your opponent's Poké-Powers while it is Active; Avalanche does 70 and may hit the Bench.
Garchomp LV.X
Majestic Dawn #97
Put onto your Active Garchomp. Dragon Pulse damages your opponent's Bench when it levels up; Restore brings back a Pokémon with Energy.
Glaceon
Majestic Dawn #5
Speed Slide's 60 ignores Resistance and every effect on the Defending Pokémon.
A Supporter and an Item:
Majestic Dawn's chase card is Glaceon LV.X, 98/100, illustrated by Ryo Ueda, at $537.50 on October 22, 2026.
The Glaceon holo, 5/100, is second at $294.79, ahead of Leafeon LV.X ($200.00).
Glaceon is printed three times in the set: the holo, a Rare and the LV.X.
Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →
LV.X and holos, priced as holofoil copies. The price for Garchomp LV.X (October 15) is the last the catalog read before October 22, 2026.
| Card | Rarity | Market price, October 22, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Glaceon LV.X | Rare Holo LV.X | $537.50 |
| Glaceon | Rare Holo | $294.79 |
| Leafeon LV.X | Rare Holo LV.X | $200.00 |
| Garchomp LV.X | Rare Holo LV.X | $187.00 on Oct 15 |
| Mewtwo | Rare Holo | $170.06 |
| Porygon-Z LV.X | Rare Holo LV.X | $144.00 |
These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026, except where a row gives an earlier day because the catalog had no newer price. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Majestic Dawn, bought as singles, cost $1,946.01 on October 22, 2026. That is the second most expensive of the seven sets in the Diamond & Pearl series.
The three most valuable cards, Glaceon LV.X, Leafeon LV.X and Garchomp LV.X, come to $924.50, or 48% of the total. Without them the set costs $1,021.51. Of the 100 cards, 51 were under $2.00, together $35.57; the other 49 add up to $1,910.44.
One card's price is older than October 22, 2026, because the catalog had no newer one: Garchomp LV.X (97), $187.00 on October 15. It is counted at that price.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Majestic Dawn is not legal in Standard or Expanded as a set: Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011. The catalog marks four of its 100 cards as legal anyway, two of them in Standard too.
They are Energy Search and Poké Ball, legal in both formats; and Quick Ball and Super Scoop Up, legal in Expanded only.
Each shares its name and text with a later, legal printing, which is what makes an older copy playable. Every other card in the set is legal in neither format.
May 1, 2008. It was the fifth set of the Diamond & Pearl series.
100, numbered 1 to 100, with no secret rares.
