Riftbound · 2025 Set Guide
Riftbound's first set and still its biggest. Origins introduced the game's 12 launch Legends, its six runes and 24 battlefields, and its Ahri is the most valuable card of any set so far.
Origins is the set Riftbound launched with on October 31, 2025, the same day as the Proving Grounds starter box. At 298 numbered cards it is still the biggest Riftbound set; none of the 2026 sets has more than 221.
Everything the game is built on starts here: the six runes, one per domain, numbered inside the main set; 12 Legends, each with a Signature spell; 48 champion units; and 24 battlefields, more than any later set has printed.
Bilgewater, Ionia and Mount Targon are the regions with the most cards. Several champions from Origins came back in later sets with new printings, such as Ahri, Inquisitive in Spiritforged and Jinx, Demolitionist in Vendetta.
Origins has 298 cards in its main set. Each one prints its number over that total at the bottom left, after the set code, as in OGN · 001/298.
Riot's card gallery lists 352 Origins cards in all. The other 54 are printings and extras outside the main set:
Origins numbers its runes and tokens inside its 298, unlike the later sets, which give them letter numbers outside the main set. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the extras apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the overnumbered and signature printings read as two separate goals. A Legend sets your deck's two domains and names the champion your Chosen Champion must match. Origins' 12 Legends cover 12 of the 15 possible domain pairs. The other three, Fury and Calm, Mind and Body, and Order and Chaos, had no Legend until Vendetta in July 2026.
Each Legend has a Signature spell in the set: an Epic that carries the champion's tag, so only a deck led by that Legend can play it. A deck can hold at most 3 Signature cards in total.

As the first set, Origins printed every keyword Riftbound launched with. These are the ones on its main-set cards, most common first. Action and Reaction decide when a spell can be played; the rest mostly change how units fight and move.
Icons are written in brackets, as on each card's page: [1] is 1 Energy, [Any Power] is 1 Power of any domain, and [Might] is the Might icon. Reminder text is a summary; Riot's Core Rules are final.
Origins has 24 battlefields, more than any later set. Some bend the rules of a game outright: Aspirant's Climb raises the points needed to win by 1, The Arena's Greatest gives every player a point on their first turn, and The Grand Plaza wins the game for a player holding it with 7 or more units there.
| Battlefield | What it does |
|---|---|
| Altar to Unity | When you hold here, play a 1 [Might] Recruit unit token in your base. |
| Aspirant's Climb | Increase the points needed to win the game by 1. |
| Back-Alley Bar | When a unit moves from here, give it +1 [Might] this turn. |
| Bandle Tree | You may hide an additional card here. |
| Fortified Position | When you defend here, choose a unit. It gains [Shield 2] this combat. (+2 [Might] while it's a defender.) |
| Grove of the God-Willow | When you hold here, draw 1. |
| Hallowed Tomb | When you hold here, you may return your Chosen Champion from your trash to your Champion Zone if it is empty. |
| Monastery of Hirana | When you conquer here, you may spend a buff to draw 1. |
| Navori Fighting Pit | When you hold here, buff a unit here. (If it doesn't have a buff, it gets a +1 [Might] buff.) |
| Obelisk of Power | At the start of each player's first Beginning Phase, that player channels 1 rune. |
| Reaver's Row | When you defend here, you may move a friendly unit here to base. |
| Reckoner's Arena | When you hold here, activate the conquer effects of units here. |
| Sigil of the Storm | When you conquer here, recycle one of your runes. |
| Startipped Peak | When you hold here, you may channel 1 rune exhausted. |
| Targon's Peak | When you conquer here, ready 2 runes at the end of this turn. |
| The Arena's Greatest | At the start of each player's first Beginning Phase, that player gains 1 point. |
| The Candlelit Sanctum | When you conquer here, look at the top two cards of your Main Deck. You may recycle one or both of them. Put those you don't back in any order. |
| The Dreaming Tree | When a player chooses a friendly unit here with a spell for the first time each turn, they draw 1. |
| The Grand Plaza | When you hold here, if you have 7+ units here, you win the game. |
| Trifarian War Camp | Units here have +1 [Might]. (This includes attackers.) |
| Vilemaw's Lair | Units can't move from here to base. |
| Void Gate | Spells and abilities affecting units here each deal 1 Bonus Damage. (Each instance of damage the spell deals is increased by 1.) |
| Windswept Hillock | Units here have [Ganking]. (They can move from battlefield to battlefield.) |
| Zaun Warrens | When you conquer here, discard 1, then draw 1. |
Every deck brings 3 battlefields with different names, and a 1v1 game uses one of each player's. How battlefields and scoring work →
The signature printing of Ahri's Legend, Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox (303*), is Origins' chase card. At $3,624.82 on September 30 it was the most valuable card in the set, and worth more than the top card of any 2026 set.
Kai'Sa, Daughter of the Void (299*) was close behind at $3,114.31. Origins had six cards above $1,000, all of them signature-printed Legends, and every one of its 12 signature printings was above $545.
Ahri's Legend is printed three times in Origins. The main-set Rare was $1.76; the overnumbered printing with Airi Pan's art was $370.79; the same art with the asterisk was nearly ten times that.
| Printing | Number | Market price, September 30, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Rare | OGN 255/298 | $1.76 |
| Overnumbered | OGN 303/298 | $370.79 |
| Signature printing | OGN 303*/298 | $3,624.82 |
Only the exact printing is worth its price. The number at the bottom left tells you which one you pulled: a number above the set's total is overnumbered, and an asterisk after it marks the signature printing. Reading the collector number →
Origins' top eight on September 30 were all signature-printed Legends. The most valuable main-set card was the Epic Kai'Sa, Survivor at $69.36, the highest of any main-set card from 2025 or 2026.
