Disney Lorcana · Set 8 · 2025 Set Guide
Jafar's set: the second dual-ink set, with more Illusions for his Vanish army and a Legendary 10-cost Mickey Mouse that deals 5 damage to everything when he falls.
Reign of Jafar is Disney Lorcana's eighth set. It continues Archazia's Island's dual-ink cards, 60 of its regular cards this time, and builds Jafar's side of the story around Illusion characters such as The Sultan - Royal Apparition and Abu - Illusory Pachyderm.
The catalog lists 229 cards: the 204 numbered regular cards, 18 Enchanted, two Legendaries numbered 223 and 224, and five cards with an "f" after their number (Huey, Dewey and Louie, Nero and Brutus).
Reign of Jafar has 229 cards. The collector line at the bottom of each card shows its number over 204, the count of regular cards, then the language and the set number 8, as in "1/204 · EN · 8". Cards numbered above 204 are the Enchanted cards and two overnumbered Legendaries.
Every Enchanted card is a foil reprint of a card from the same set with new art, so it plays exactly like the regular printing. The Epic and Iconic rarities did not exist yet: Fabled introduced both later in 2025. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the regular cards by collector number and keeps Enchanted, Epic and Iconic cards apart as extras, so finishing the set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. Illusions return with Vanish, in Amethyst, Steel and Amethyst-Steel. The Sultan - Royal Apparition exerts an opposing character whenever one of your Illusions quests, and Jafar - High Sultan of Lorcana can play an Illusion for free when he discards one.
The 60 dual-ink cards again cover every pair of inks, four each, so the set gave every two-ink deck new options. Sing Together, which lets several characters exert together to sing one song, appears on six cards.

Reign of Jafar is no longer legal in Core Constructed. It left Core Constructed when Attack of the Vine! released in July 2026, which rotated out sets 5 to 8. Core now uses Fabled (set 9) onward, and Infinity Constructed still allows every set.
In Infinity, the Illusions are still a deck of their own. They are cheap for their stats, and Jafar - High Sultan of Lorcana and The Sultan reward playing several, at the risk that any action an opponent aims at one banishes it.
Prerelease events started May 30, 2025, and wide release was June 6, 2025. Reign of Jafar is set 8.
A keyword on Illusion characters: when an opponent chooses the character for an action, it is banished. It first appeared in Archazia's Island.
No. It rotated out of Core Constructed, along with sets 5 to 7, when Attack of the Vine! released in July 2026. It is still legal in Infinity Constructed.
