Disney Lorcana Ink Pairs
A Lorcana deck uses up to two of the six inks, which makes 15 pairs. Each one below has its own page: how it plays, what it does well and badly, its dual-ink card and the starter decks in it, as of October 2026.
This is the index of every pair. For what each ink is like on its own, how ink works in a deck and how dual-ink cards are counted, start with the Lorcana ink colors guide. The pages here describe what each pair tends to do rather than which deck is winning this month, since that changes with every set.
Every ink is in five pairs. Pick the ink you already like and choose its partner.
Amethyst's pairs with Amber are listed above.
Emerald's pairs with Amber and Amethyst are listed above.
Ruby's pairs with Amber, Amethyst and Emerald are listed above.
Attack of the Vine! (set 13) printed a dual-ink card in each of the 15 pairs, and two in Amethyst and Sapphire. As of October 2026 they are the only dual-ink cards legal in Core Constructed. Each counts as both of its inks, so it fits only a deck built from exactly that pair.

Fifteen. There are six inks (Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Steel), and every way of choosing two of them is a legal Core Constructed or Infinity deck. A one-ink deck is legal too, but almost every deck uses two.
Not in Core Constructed or Infinity, where the limit is two. Format Coconut, Ravensburger's multiplayer format in open beta, allows up to three. One card bends the two-ink rule for a single tribe: Christopher Robin - Hunny Sage lets your deck include other Hunny characters regardless of their ink.
Yes, as of October 2026. Attack of the Vine! (set 13) printed 16 dual-ink cards, at least one in each of the 15 pairs and two in Amethyst and Sapphire, and they are the only Core-legal dual-ink cards. Archazia's Island and Reign of Jafar printed dual-ink cards too, but those sets have rotated out of Core.
It changes with every set and differs between Core and Infinity, so no pair stays on top for long. For a first deck, pick a pair whose plan you like and whose inks cover each other's weaknesses, or start from a starter deck in that pair.
12 of the 15, counting every starter deck Ravensburger sold before Hyperia City. Each pair's page lists its starter decks with a link to the upgrade guide, and the starter deck directory has them all.
The Deck Lab checks your deck's inks, size and copies against Core Constructed or Infinity as you build. Free on iPhone, Android and the web.
