ST-11 Uta

ST-11 is a green FILM deck led by Uta, whose attacks pull FILM cards off the top of your deck. The Leader and its five new cards are still legal in Standard, but the ten reprinted OP02 Straw Hat Characters and events are not.

ST-11 is Bandai's Uta starter deck from February 2024, built on the FILM type from One Piece Film: Red. Its 15 different cards are the Uta Leader, four new Uta support cards, and ten FILM Straw Hat Crew cards reprinted from OP02.

The Leader is a 5000 power Uta with 5 Life. With 1 DON!! attached, once per turn when she attacks, you reveal the top card of your deck and add it to your hand if it is a FILM card; otherwise it goes to the bottom. Every card in the box has the FILM type, so in the original list every reveal hits. The four new cards are an Uta Character (a Blocker that can trash an event to stand a FILM Character) and three events that only work with an Uta Leader: Backlight, New Genesis and I'm invincible.

The problem in 2026 is rotation. The Leader is legal, but the ten OP02 reprints are block 1 cards, so a Standard Uta deck has to replace most of the box. Later sets, mainly OP13 and the ST-16 Uta deck, added the green FILM cards to do that.

The Uta Leader and the five ST11 cards are Standard-legal, but the ten OP02 reprints (Usopp, Jinbe, Tony Tony.Chopper, Trafalgar Law, Nico Robin, Franky, Brook, Monkey.D.Luffy, Roronoa Zoro and Three Sword Style Oni Giri) rotated out on April 1, 2026.

Ratings

Strength as sold 1/5

Ten of the deck's 15 different cards are rotated block 1 reprints, so it cannot be played in Standard as sold. In Extra Regulation it works, but most of those reprints are vanilla Characters.

Upgraded ceiling 3/5

OP13 and the ST-16 deck added enough Standard-legal green FILM cards to rebuild it, and Backlight and Fleeting Lullaby give Uta a real rest-then-K.O. plan. The Leader's card advantage is one reveal per turn that can miss, which keeps the ceiling at 3.

Difficulty to play 2/5

Most turns are simple: give Uta a DON!!, attack, and keep the card if it is FILM. The decisions are when to use Backlight's rest mode to set up a K.O. and when to spend I'm invincible to attack with Uta twice.

These are TurnZero HQ's own read of the cards, not tournament results or an official Bandai rating. How we rate starter decks →

How it plays

Uta's plan is steady value and control. Attack with the Leader every turn with a DON!! attached for a chance at an extra card, and use Backlight to rest an opponent's Character costing 5 or less, or to K.O. one that is already rested.

The middle turns are about tempo. In the original list, Nico Robin, Brook and the 7-cost Monkey.D.Luffy each play a cheaper FILM or Straw Hat Crew Character from your hand, so one card puts two bodies on the field. In a Standard build, OP13 cards like Roronoa Zoro, Sanji and Brook set DON!! as active instead, which lets you play a second card in the same turn.

Late in the game, I'm invincible sets your Uta Leader as active so she can attack a second time. Her reveal is once per turn, so that second attack is for damage only. The Uta Character can trash an event from your hand at the end of your turn to set a FILM Character that attacked back to active, ready to block.

Tips for your first games

  • Always give Uta at least 1 DON!! before she attacks. Without it her reveal does not happen.
  • Use Backlight's rest mode on a Character you plan to attack, or pair it with a second Backlight to rest and then K.O. the same Character in one turn.
  • New Genesis sets 1 DON!! as active after it resolves, so it refunds its own 1 cost.
  • When you rebuild for Standard, keep every Character and event FILM so the Leader's reveal does not miss.

Upgrade guide

Every upgrade below is legal in Standard and shares a color with the Leader. Prices are each card's base printing on TCGplayer on October 10, 2026; open a card for today's price.

Replace the rotated OP02 cards with OP13 and ST-16 FILM

This is the first thing to do, since the deck is not Standard-legal without it. Each of these is a green FILM Character, so the Leader's reveal still hits, and all of them are budget cards. Several set DON!! as active when played, which replaces the free Characters the OP02 cards used to give you with extra DON!! to spend in the same turn. You lose the chain plays from Nico Robin, Brook and the OP02 Luffy.

Roronoa Zoro OP13-037$0.29

Lean into Uta's rest-then-K.O. control

Backlight shows the deck's best plan: rest an opponent's Character, then remove it. These cards add more of that. Fleeting Lullaby keeps two rested Characters from standing, Tot Musica rests DON!!, and Shanks and the 7-cost Uta finish rested Characters off or rest them in the first place. The Music and FILM events are budget cards; Shanks and the 7-cost Uta cost more. The tradeoff is defense: none of these events can be used as a Counter on your opponent's turn.

What to cut first

Bandai's list doesn't say how many copies of each card the deck has, so cut by card: take out every copy of these before anything else, and keep the deck at exactly 50.

Every card in ST-11

Bandai's card list for ST-11 has 15 different cards. 10 of them carry a block 1 icon or are banned, so they can't be played in Standard; they are still legal in Extra Regulation unless banned. Legality follows Bandai's block icons and its banned list effective October 12, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ST-11 Uta legal in Standard?

Partly. The Uta Leader and the five ST11 cards are legal, but the ten OP02 reprints in the box rotated out on April 1, 2026, so you need to replace them before playing Standard.

Is ST-11 good?

As sold it cannot be played in Standard, so we rate it 1 out of 5. Rebuilt with OP13 and ST-16 FILM cards it is a coherent control deck, which we rate 3.

What should I upgrade first in ST-11?

Replace the rotated OP02 Characters with green FILM Characters from OP13, such as Roronoa Zoro (OP13-037) and Sanji (OP13-027), so the deck is legal and the Leader's reveal still hits.

Is ST-11 good for beginners?

Its turns are simple, but it needs replacement cards before it is Standard-legal. A beginner who only plays casually or in Extra Regulation can use it straight from the box.
