What the most expensive cards have in common

Every card in the top 20 is a special printing. None is a standard printing, and every one plays exactly like the standard card with the same number, which you can usually buy for a few dollars. Of the 68 printings with a market price of $1,000 or more, 24 are Manga printings, 19 are promotion cards and 18 are SP cards. The other seven are Super Alternate Arts, one Alternate Art Leader and the signed Luffy.

Kind of printingWhy it costs so much
SP and Gold SPAn older card reprinted in a newer set with new art. Some SPs also have a Gold or Silver version: the Gold SP Luffy is first on this list and the regular SP of the same card is fifth.
MangaArtwork built from panels of Eiichiro Oda's manga. Only a few per set, and they are often a set's most valuable pull.
Super Alternate ArtThe top printing of a few headline cards in OP13 and OP17, above their Parallel or Alternate Art.
Tournament prizesHanded out at Regionals, Treasure Cups and championship events, often only to the top finishers, so few copies exist.
Serial numbered and signedIndividually numbered cards and the Gold-Stamped Signature Luffy are scarce by design.

The character matters as much as the treatment. Luffy holds five places in the top 20, and the Straw Hat crew, the Emperors and Boa Hancock fill most of the rest. Our guides to Manga cards, promo cards and rare One Piece cards cover each kind of printing in more depth.

How to read a five-figure price

A market price at the top of this list rests on very few sales. TCGplayer's market price comes from completed sales, and a card that sells a few times a year can carry the price of its last sale for months. Round figures such as $13,000.00, $8,000.00 and $5,000.00 are a sign of that. They usually mean the price rests on one or two sales rather than a market with many buyers and sellers.

Three things to keep in mind before you treat one of these numbers as a value:

LimitWhat it means
Raw cards onlyThese are prices for ungraded, Near Mint English cards. A PSA 10 copy of the same printing sells in its own market.
English onlyJapanese printings come out earlier and sell in a separate market at different prices.
Some cards have no priceA few scarce printings, such as OP13's Red Super Alternate Art Luffy and Ace, have no TCGplayer market price at all, so they cannot appear in a ranked list even if they would sell for more.

What everything else is worth

Most One Piece cards are worth very little. Of the 7,254 English printings in TCGplayer's One Piece catalog on October 2, 2026, 6,863 had a market price, and half of those were under $0.76. Only 426 were $100 or more. In the main booster sets, the median standard printing of a Common or Uncommon is about $0.10, and the median standard Secret Rare is about $6.

That gap is why the printing matters more than the card. If you are sorting a collection, check the art against the standard card before you check the price. The Parallel vs. Alternate Art guide shows how to tell printings apart, and How Much Are My One Piece Cards Worth? covers condition, grading and what a store will pay. For the most valuable printings in each 2026 set, see the 2026 set guides.

Checking your own cards

TurnZero HQ prices every One Piece printing from TCGplayer each day. Add a card to your collection by printing and finish, and the app shows its market price, a 90-day price chart and the card's other printings, so you can see whether yours is the $5 version or the $5,000 one. The One Piece collection tracker covers the rest, and the card scanner adds cards by reading the card number.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the most expensive One Piece card?

By TCGplayer market price on October 2, 2026, the Gold SP Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) from OP11 A Fist of Divine Speed, at $13,000.00. That is the raw, English card. Prices for graded copies and Japanese printings are separate markets and are not in this list.

Why are some One Piece cards worth thousands of dollars?

Because very few exist. The cards at the top of the list are special printings of popular characters: Gold SP and SP reprints, Manga rares, Super Alternate Arts and tournament prize cards that only top finishers received. The card plays exactly like its cheap standard printing; collectors are paying for scarcity and art.

Is the most expensive One Piece card from a booster pack?

Yes, the top card on this list can be pulled from OP11 booster packs. Several others on the list cannot: tournament prize cards such as the October Championship 2024 Online Regional Rebecca were handed out at events and never sold in packs.

Are these prices for graded cards?

No. They are TCGplayer market prices for raw, Near Mint English cards. A PSA 10 or CGC 10 copy of the same printing sells in its own market, often for much more.

How often do these prices change?

TCGplayer market prices move with every sale, and TurnZero HQ refreshes them daily. Cards at the top of this list sell rarely, so one sale can move a price by thousands of dollars. Treat this list as a snapshot, dated, rather than as a valuation.
