Premium Gold Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Premium Gold released March 28, 2014, with 90 cards under the PGLD set code. Every card is a Gold Rare or a Gold Secret Rare: 58 Gold Rares and 32 Gold Secret Rares.

The first 29 cards, PGLD-EN001 to EN029, were new to the TCG, all at Gold Secret Rare. Gimmick Puppet gets the most of them, eight, and Chronomaly and the Chaos Number Monsters get three each.

The other 61 cards are reprints. The three Egyptian Gods, Obelisk the Tormentor, The Winged Dragon of Ra and Slifer the Sky Dragon, are Gold Secret Rares at EN030 to EN032, and the rest are Gold Rares going back to 2002, such as Mirror Force, Jinzo and Mystical Space Typhoon.

Cards and rarities

Premium Gold has 90 set codes, each starting PGLD-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

Each set code has one rarity, so the 90 set codes are also 90 printings. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. New cards

The 29 new cards are mostly Xyz and Synchro Monsters with a few theme cards, and Gimmick Puppet gets the largest group. These six are the most notable of them.

Number C15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Hunter

PGLD-EN019

A Rank 9 Chaos Number for 3 Level 9 monsters. Once per turn it detaches a material to destroy a card your opponent controls, and if that was a monster, deals damage equal to its original ATK.

Number C6: Chronomaly Chaos Atlandis

PGLD-EN018

A Rank 7 for 3 Level 7 monsters that equips an opponent's monster to itself for 1000 ATK once per turn. With Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis as material, it can drop your opponent to 100 LP.

Ancient Pixie Dragon

PGLD-EN006

A Level 7 Synchro that draws a card after a Field Spell you activated resolves, and destroys a face-up Attack Position monster once per turn while a Field Spell is face-up.

Number 82: Heartlandraco

PGLD-EN025

A Rank 4 that cannot be targeted for attacks while you control a face-up Spell. It can detach a material to attack directly, though your other monsters cannot attack that turn.

Number 13: Embodiment of Crime

PGLD-EN023

A Rank 1 that detaches to switch your opponent's monsters to Attack Position and make them attack it. With Number 31: Embodiment of Punishment on your field, it cannot be destroyed while it has material and reflects the battle damage.

Blackfeather Darkrage Dragon

PGLD-EN017

A Level 8 Synchro that, once per turn when you take damage, sends up to 5 cards from the top of your Deck to the GY and gains 400 ATK if any of them were monsters.

Reprints worth knowing

Most of the set's value is in its Gold Rare reprints. These five older cards were among the most valuable printings on October 22, 2026.

Thunder King Rai-Oh

PGLD-EN075

While it is face-up, neither player can add cards from the Deck to the hand except by drawing. It can send itself to the GY to negate your opponent's Special Summon of exactly 1 monster and destroy it.

The Winged Dragon of Ra

PGLD-EN031

The third Egyptian God, a Level 10 that needs 3 Tributes and cannot be Special Summoned. When Normal Summoned you can pay LP down to 100 to add that much ATK and DEF, and it pays 1000 LP to destroy a monster.

Caius the Shadow Monarch

PGLD-EN066

A Level 6 Monarch that banishes a card on the field when it is Tribute Summoned, and deals 1000 damage if that card was a DARK monster.

Breaker the Magical Warrior

PGLD-EN052

Gets a Spell Counter when Normal Summoned and gains 300 ATK for it. It can remove the counter to destroy a Spell or Trap on the field.

Effect Veiler

PGLD-EN036

A Level 1 Tuner you send from your hand during your opponent's Main Phase to negate the effects of one of their face-up Effect Monsters until the end of the turn.

The chase card: Dark Magician Girl

Dark Magician Girl

PGLD-EN033

Rarity Gold Rare

Set code PGLD-EN033

1st Edition market price, October 22, 2026 $27.50

The Gold Rare Dark Magician Girl (PGLD-EN033) is Premium Gold's chase card, at $27.50 on October 22, 2026. The Gold Rare Thunder King Rai-Oh was next at $20.73.

Dark Magician Girl is a Level 6 DARK Spellcaster with 2000 ATK and 1700 DEF that gains 300 ATK for each Dark Magician or Magician of Black Chaos in the GY. It was first released in 2003.

It is a reprint, so a Premium Gold copy is one of many printings of the card. The gold foil and the PGLD set code are what set this one apart.

Rarity is in the foil rather than the set code, so check it before you price the copy in your hand. Reading the set code and rarity →

Playing it

Five cards in Premium Gold are on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026. Beelze of the Diabolic Dragons and Eclipse Wyvern are Forbidden, and Number C40: Gimmick Puppet of Dark Strings, Reinforcement of the Army and Gold Sarcophagus are Limited.

Most of the reprints are general cards from older formats, such as Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, Bottomless Trap Hole and Swords of Revealing Light. The Gimmick Puppet cards are the one theme with enough new support here to build around.
