Star Pack 2014 Card List and Set Guide

Overview

Star Pack 2014 released February 21, 2014, with 50 cards under the SP14 set code. Every card comes at two rarities, Common and Starfoil Rare, which makes 100 printings.

All 50 cards are reprints. 42 of them were first released in 2011 or 2012, and most of the rest are older cards such as Morphing Jar #2 (2002), Magical Merchant and Reasoning (both 2003).

The set leans on Xyz Monsters from the same era: eleven of its 50 cards are Xyz Monsters, including Number C39: Utopia Ray, Photon Strike Bounzer and all four Djinn Xyz Monsters.

Cards and rarities

Star Pack 2014 has 50 set codes, each starting SP14-EN and printed under the artwork on the right. Where a card comes at more than one rarity, every version shares its code, so the table counts set codes at each rarity and a code printed at two rarities is counted twice.

Each set code is printed at both rarities, so the rows add up to 100 printings for 50 set codes. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts the distinct set codes you own against the set's total, so a card printed at two rarities counts once, with an every-rarity count beside it for collectors chasing each version. The Xyz Monsters

The most valuable cards in Star Pack 2014 are Xyz Monsters from 2012. These six show the range, from Rank 3 Djinn support to the Rank 7 Number 7: Lucky Straight.

Melomelody the Brass Djinn

SP14-EN030

A Rank 3 Djinn Xyz for 2 Level 3 monsters. Once per turn it detaches a material to let a Djinn Xyz Monster you control attack twice in each Battle Phase that turn.

Maestroke the Symphony Djinn

SP14-EN031

A Rank 4 Djinn Xyz that detaches a material to flip a face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls face-down. A Djinn Xyz you control can detach a material instead of being destroyed.

Photon Strike Bounzer

SP14-EN024

A Rank 6 for 2 Level 6 monsters. Once per turn, when your opponent activates a monster effect on their field, it detaches a material to negate it and deals 1000 damage.

Number 25: Force Focus

SP14-EN026

A Rank 6 that, once per turn on either player's turn, detaches a material to negate the effects of a Level 5 or higher Effect Monster your opponent controls until the end of the turn.

Number 7: Lucky Straight

SP14-EN027

A Rank 7 for 3 Level 7 monsters. It rolls a die twice to set its ATK, and if the rolls total exactly 7 it clears the field, Special Summons a monster or draws 3 and discards 2.

Number C39: Utopia Ray

SP14-EN022

A Rank 4 Number that can be Xyz Summoned on top of Number 39: Utopia. At 1000 LP or less it detaches to gain 500 ATK and take 1000 ATK from an opponent's monster until the End Phase.

Cards worth knowing

Four cards from outside the Xyz block. Reasoning is the one card in the set on the Forbidden & Limited List.

Malefic Truth Dragon

SP14-EN044

A Level 12 with 5000 ATK and DEF that Special Summons itself by paying half your LP when another Malefic monster you control is destroyed. It needs a face-up Field Spell to stay on the field.

Magical Merchant

SP14-EN040

A Flip monster that excavates from the top of your Deck until it reveals a Spell or Trap, adds that card to your hand and sends the rest to the GY.

Odin, Father of the Aesir

SP14-EN050

A Level 10 Aesir Synchro with 4000 ATK that can make itself unaffected by Spells and Traps for the turn, and returns from the GY in the End Phase after your opponent destroys it.

Reasoning

SP14-EN041

Your opponent declares a Level, then you excavate until you reveal a monster that can be Normal Summoned. If its Level is different, you Special Summon it, and either way the other cards go to the GY.

The Starfoil Rare Melomelody the Brass Djinn (SP14-EN030) was Star Pack 2014's most valuable printing on October 22, 2026, at $7.69. The top three were close: the Starfoil Rare Malefic Truth Dragon was $7.49 and the Starfoil Rare Photon Strike Bounzer $7.35.

Melomelody is a Rank 3 LIGHT Fiend Xyz Monster for 2 Level 3 monsters. Once per turn it can detach a material to give a Djinn Xyz Monster you control a second attack in each Battle Phase that turn.

Its Common printing shares the code and was $2.99.

Chase cards and prices

The Starfoil Rares are worth more than the Commons on most cards, but not on all of them: the Common Number 7: Lucky Straight was $7.03 on October 22, 2026, above its own Starfoil Rare at $6.31. 73 of the 100 printings were under $1.

Playing it

One card in Star Pack 2014 is on the Forbidden & Limited List as of October 23, 2026: Reasoning is Limited.

The cards are older, so most were built for the 2011 to 2013 game. The Djinn Xyz Monsters work together (Melomelody gives a Djinn Xyz a second attack, Maestroke protects them), and the three Nordic Tuners in the set are the materials the three Aesir Synchro Monsters ask for.
