Lorcana Precon+ · Whispers in the Well
The Horned King: Nothing Stays Dead
A Halloween deck for Core Constructed where nothing stays dead: the Horned King plays your banished characters straight from the discard. A 60-card Amber and Amethyst deck built from singles, $57.14 for every card.
The Black Cauldron came to Lorcana in Whispers in the Well, and the Horned King has been building an undead army ever since. This deck is that army in Amber and Amethyst. Merciless Master is the engine: while he is exerted, you may play characters from your discard, and they enter play exerted. Quest with him first, then replay whatever your opponent banished last turn.
Triumphant Ghoul is the payoff. On any of your turns when a card has left a discard, he gets +2 lore and quests for 3. Almost everything here moves a card out of a discard: Merciless Master, The Black Cauldron, Or Rewrite History!, Bruno's Return and Metamorphosis bring characters back, while Magica De Spell, Anna and Broken Pod pull a card out of either player's discard just to turn him on. Queen of Hearts adds a lore to every other Villain that quests the same turn.
The Black Cauldron keeps your dead safe. Pay 1 ink to put a character from your discard under it, which counts for the Ghoul, and on a later turn pay 1 more to play characters from under it. Cauldron Born, a 6/7 for 5 ink, is the body you keep raising, and Demona - Scourge of the Wyvern Clan exerts every opposing character when she enters, so your army can challenge whatever is left standing.
