Awakening of the New Era Set Guide

Overview

Awakening of the New Era is the fifth English booster, released December 8, 2023. Its Leaders include Sabo and Belo Betty of the Revolutionary Army, Donquixote Rosinante, Sakazuki, Enel and a purple Monkey.D.Luffy.

Its Secret Rare Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119), the Gear 5 Luffy, is a cost 10 Character whose DON!! -10 puts your other Characters on the bottom of your deck and takes an extra turn.

TCGplayer lists 157 printings: 119 base printings, 26 Alternate Arts, 6 SP printings, 3 Manga and 3 DON!! cards. Most OP05 cards carry block 1, which left Standard on April 1, 2026, so check a card's block icon before a Standard event.

Cards and rarities

TCGplayer lists 157 printings in Awakening of the New Era. 119 are base printings, the version of each card number with no special art, and the other 38 are special printings of those numbers and the set's DON!! cards.

Special printings

The rarity counts above are the 119 base printings. A special printing keeps its card's rarity, so an Alternate Art Super Rare is still marked SR. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set by its base printings and keeps every other printing as a separate tally, so finishing the set and chasing its special printings read as two separate goals. The Leaders

Six Leaders. Five are two colors with 4 Life; Monkey.D.Luffy is purple only, with 5. Donquixote Rosinante is a Leader with Blocker.

Sabo

OP05-001

Red and black, 4 Life. With 1 DON!!, once per opponent's turn, a Character with 5000 power or more takes -1000 power instead of being K.O.'d.

Belo Betty

OP05-002

Red and yellow, 4 Life. Once per turn, trash a Revolutionary Army card to give up to 3 Revolutionary Army or Trigger Characters +3000 power.

Donquixote Rosinante

OP05-022

Blue and green, 4 Life. Has Blocker, and sets himself active at the end of your turn with 6 or fewer cards in hand.

Sakazuki

OP05-041

Blue and black, 4 Life. Once per turn, trash a card to draw one, and gives an opposing Character -1 cost when attacking.

Monkey.D.Luffy

OP05-060

Purple, 5 Life. Once per turn, takes your top Life card into hand to add an active DON!! when you have 0 or 3 or more on your field.

Enel

OP05-098

Yellow, 4 Life. Once per opponent's turn, when your Life reaches 0, adds a card from your deck to your Life and trashes a card from hand.

Among cards numbered OP05, the Manga printings lead: Trafalgar Law (OP05-069) at $1,700.87 and Eustass"Captain"Kid (OP05-074) at $976.65. The Manga Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) had no market price on TCGplayer that day, so it isn't ranked here.

Every Monkey.D.Luffy ST01-012 in Awakening of the New Era

Every printing of a card number plays the same and counts toward the same four in a deck. Only the art and the price differ, so check the art against the card's page before you value the one you pulled. Reading the card number and rarity →

Chase cards and prices

Two Manga printings follow the gold Luffy, then three SP reprints from earlier sets: Nami (OP01-016), Uta (OP02-120) and Yamato (OP01-121).

These are each printing's TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices for a new set can move a long way in its first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price and its 90-day chart. How One Piece card prices work →

Playing it

Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) is a finisher a deck has to be built toward: DON!! -10 means 10 DON!! on your field, and the extra turn costs you every other Character you have out.

Sabo and Belo Betty both lead the Revolutionary Army, and Rosinante, a Blocker himself, protects the board. Check each card's block icon before a Standard event, since most of the set is block 1.

Tournament play adds Bandai's banned and restricted lists and, since April 2026, Standard rotation by the block number printed on each card. Check Bandai's current announcements before an event. Deck building rules →
