Pokémon TCG · 2026 Set Guide
The fourth Mega Evolution expansion, with a strong Kalos lean. Mega Greninja ex carries it, both at the table and in the price list, with four more Mega Evolution ex beside it.
Chaos Rising is the fourth main expansion of the Mega Evolution series. Its Pokémon and Trainers lean on Kalos: Mega Greninja ex with Froakie and Frogadier as Illustration Rares, Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Floette ex, AZ, Emma and Prism Tower.
It has five Mega Evolution ex at Double Rare, one more than Perfect Order, and five regular Pokémon ex.
Chaos Rising has 122 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "001/086", next to the set code CRI.
The printed total is 86, so the 36 cards from 087 to 122 are secret rares. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →
The five Mega Evolution ex each give up three Prize cards when Knocked Out. Four are worth knowing first:
Mega Greninja ex
Chaos Rising #22
350 HP Stage 2. Mortal Shuriken discards a Basic Water Energy from your hand to put 6 damage counters on any of your opponent's Pokémon, once a turn while Active.
Mega Floette ex
Chaos Rising #35
A Basic with 250 HP. Eternity Bloom does 200 and attaches up to 4 Basic Psychic Energy from your deck to your Bench.
Mega Dragalge ex
Chaos Rising #65
Corrosive Liquid discards every Tool and Special Energy on your opponent's Pokémon; Pernicious Poison places 16 damage counters at each Pokémon Checkup instead of 1.
Mega Gallade ex
Chaos Rising #48
Gale Slash does 200 for one Energy if it has no damage counters on it; Marvelous Edge does a flat 240.
Three Trainers stand out:
AZ's Tranquility
Chaos Rising #76
A Supporter that switches your Active Pokémon and heals 80 if the one moved to the Bench is a Pokémon ex.
Transformation Tome
Chaos Rising #83
Played two at once. Swaps a Basic Pokémon in your discard pile for one in play, keeping the Energy, damage and turns in play on the new one.
Philippe
Chaos Rising #79
Attaches up to 2 Basic Metal Energy from your discard pile to one of your Metal Pokémon.
Chaos Rising's chase is Mega Greninja ex, and it has two cards competing for the title. The Special Illustration Rare, illustrated by Susumu Maeya, was $153.29 on September 30; the Mega Hyper Rare (122) was $151.33, under $2 apart.
Nothing else in the set is close. The next most valuable card, the Cinccino ex Special Illustration Rare, was $47.05, less than a third of either Greninja.
Mega Greninja ex is printed four times in the set, and the Double Rare you need for a deck was $0.83.

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on September 30, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Chaos Rising, bought as singles, cost $526.44 on September 30, 2026. That is the fourth most expensive of the five sets released in 2026.
The three most valuable cards, Mega Greninja ex, Mega Greninja ex and Cinccino ex, come to $351.67, or 67% of the total. Without them the set costs $174.77. Of the 120 cards, 101 were under $2.00, together $38.66; the other 19 add up to $487.78.
Two cards had no TCGplayer price on file and aren't counted: Bubbly Water Energy and Nitro Fire Energy.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil where both exist, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
Chaos Rising released after the April 10, 2026 rotation, and every card carries a J or I regulation mark, both legal in Standard.
Mega Greninja ex does its damage before it attacks. Mortal Shuriken places 6 damage counters anywhere, which sets up Knock Outs on the Bench that its own attack, or another Pokémon's, can finish.
May 22, 2026. Its set code is CRI.
122. The printed total is 86, and the 36 cards numbered above it are secret rares.
On September 30, 2026, the two Mega Greninja ex chase cards: the Special Illustration Rare (116) and the Mega Hyper Rare (122), each a little over $150. Prices move daily, so check each card's page for the current figure.
