Pokémon TCG · 2004 Set Guide
Groudon ex and Kyogre ex, the three legendary golems as Pokémon-ex, and Stadiums built around Hoenn's ancient ruins.
Hidden Legends came out on June 1, 2004, with 102 cards: 93 Pokémon and 9 Trainers. Its nine Pokémon-ex include Groudon ex and Kyogre ex, which stop each other from attacking, and Regice ex, Regirock ex and Registeel ex.
Its Trainers lean on the ruins theme: Ancient Technical Machines for each Regi's type, and four Stadiums, Ancient Tomb, Desert Ruins, Island Cave and Magnetic Storm. The printed total is 101, and a secret Groudon is numbered 102.
Hidden Legends has 102 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/101". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.
The printed total is 101, so Groudon, 102/101, is the one secret rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. How set completion works →
The two box legendaries and a Regi:
Groudon ex
Hidden Legends #93
Mark of Antiquity stops each player's Kyogre ex and Rayquaza ex attacking while it is Active; Crushing Mantle adds 10 for each Energy discarded from your hand.
Kyogre ex
Hidden Legends #94
Mark of Antiquity, the other way round; Super Tidal Wave adds 10 for each Energy card in your hand.
Regice ex
Hidden Legends #97
Crystal Body prevents every effect of attacks on it except damage; Freeze Lock may stop Energy attachments.
A Supporter and a Stadium:
Hidden Legends' chase card is Groudon ex, 93/101, illustrated by Hikaru Koike, at $330.33 on October 22, 2026.
The list is close at the top: Ninetales ex ($314.00), Regice ex ($303.75) and Registeel ex ($300.50) are within $30 of it. The secret Groudon, 102/101, was $114.93.
Groudon is printed twice in the set: as Groudon ex and as the secret rare.
Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →
All six are Pokémon-ex, priced as holofoil copies.

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. How Pokémon card prices work →
One copy of every card in Hidden Legends, bought as singles, cost $3,143.71 on October 22, 2026. That is the 13th most expensive of the sixteen sets in the EX series.
The three most valuable cards, Groudon ex, Ninetales ex and Regice ex, come to $948.08, or 30% of the total. Without them the set costs $2,195.63. Of the 102 cards, 46 were under $2.00, together $36.47; the other 56 add up to $3,107.24.
Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.
The catalog marks every card in Hidden Legends as legal in neither Standard nor Expanded, the two formats Play! Pokémon sanctions. Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011.
June 1, 2004. It was the fifth set of the EX series.
