Deoxys came out on February 1, 2005, with 108 cards: 96 Pokémon, 9 Trainers and 3 special Energy. It prints Deoxys ex three times, one for each form, and each can switch itself for another Deoxys ex from your deck with Form Change.

Its three Pokémon Star cards, Latias ★, Latios ★ and Rayquaza ★, are numbered 105 to 107, inside the printed total of 107. A secret Rocket's Raikou ex is 108.

Cards and rarities

Deoxys has 108 cards. Every card shows its number over the printed total along the bottom, as in "4/107". The cards print a set symbol, not a set code; the code here is the short one the catalog and TurnZero HQ file the set under.

Rare Holo15Holofoil art.
Rare Holo EX9Pokémon-ex: two Prize cards when Knocked Out.
Rare Holo Star3Pokémon Star (★): one per deck.
Rare Secret1Numbered above the printed total.

The printed total is 107. The three Pokémon Stars are 105 to 107, and Rocket's Raikou ex, 108/107, is the one secret rare. Set completion in TurnZero HQ counts a set against its printed total and keeps the secret rares apart, so finishing the main set and chasing the cards above it read as two separate goals. The catalog has no price for Latias ★ or Rayquaza ★, so they can't be compared. Rayquaza ex was $999.00 on October 22, 2026, the most valuable card priced that day.

Latios ★ is printed once in the set.

Only the exact version is worth its price. The number at the bottom of the card and the rarity symbol beside it tell you which one you pulled. Reading the number and rarity symbol →

Chase cards and prices

Latios ★, then Pokémon-ex and holos, priced as holofoil copies. The price for Latios ★ (October 9) is the last the catalog read before October 22, 2026.

Deoxys ex Rare Holo EX$300.00
Rocket's Raikou ex Rare Secret$280.00
Gyarados Rare Holo$274.60

These are each card's headline TCGplayer market price on October 22, 2026, except where a row gives an earlier day because the catalog had no newer price. Prices can move a long way, most of all in a set's first months, so treat them as a snapshot. Each card's page shows today's price for every variant and its 90-day chart. What a complete set costs

One copy of every card in Deoxys, bought as singles, cost $5,306.34 on October 22, 2026. That is the 9th most expensive of the sixteen sets in the EX series.

Complete set $5,306.34
Main set, 1 to 107 $5,026.34
1 secret rare $280.00
Top three cards $2,799.00 (53%)

The three most valuable cards, Latios ★, Rayquaza ex and Deoxys ex, come to $2,799.00, or 53% of the total. Without them the set costs $2,507.34. Of the 106 cards, 57 were under $2.00, together $56.21; the other 49 add up to $5,250.13.

Two cards had no TCGplayer price on file and aren't counted: Latias ★ and Rayquaza ★.

One card's price is older than October 22, 2026, because the catalog had no newer one: Latios ★ (106), $1,500.00 on October 9. It is counted at that price.

Each card is counted at its cheapest priced variant, usually a Normal copy rather than a Reverse Holofoil, or a stamped promo copy where the catalog prices one lower, at its TCGplayer market price. This is what it costs to buy the set as singles. It is not what opening packs returns, and not what a complete set would sell for, which after fees and the many cards worth cents would be noticeably less.

Playing it

The catalog marks every card in Deoxys as legal in neither Standard nor Expanded, the two formats Play! Pokémon sanctions. Expanded starts with the Black & White series in 2011.
